3 sisters + 2 worlds=5 days of Orlando fun! An Aug. '10 TR...final thoughts p. 45

Nice update! How cool that they've added the latest contestants to the show! Sounds like a lot of fun :)

Wow so many details from the AIE show. Sounds like you really love this show. Hope your school year is going well.

I love AIE! I have yet to make it to the finale show though, which is something I really wanna do. Aww...the good old days of Idol! I've watched since the beginning. I don't know what made me start watching, but I always liked those singing shows. I remember watching the one Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls was on, it was on WB11. Superstar? Something like that.

ugh. Your TRs alwasy make me want to go to AIE so bad. But no one will go with my - even my dad who is a major AI fan. :confused3

Now that I have my new found solo-exploration spirit, I might have to go check it out myself!

Sounds like a nice visit to American Idol. That's cool that they're updating it with new contestants as new seasons come and go, especially the one that got his start at the attraction.

So, how many more times did you see American Idol this trip? Based on your other reports, I find it hard to imagine that this will be your only visit. \

I'm trying to figure out your "Little Green Men" clue for lunch. Can't decide if it's going to be Pizza Planet or the Sci-Fi.

LOL, well, you are probably right in thinking we saw it more than once on this trip. I'm not going to tell though!

One of your guesses is right. The other one I didn't even think would fit with that clue until you mentioned it.

Love that picture of the guitar and tower together!

Sounds like you had a fun on TOT! Maybe one day I'll stop being a chicken and do it! :lmao:

Yikes with the long wait at RNRC! This is another thing I'll do when I stop being a chicken! :rotfl2:

We've never seen the show at AIE! We may have to try it! It sounds good and DD love AI!!!

I do too, so cool Emma managed to get that.

Tower of Terror is really not that bad. Plus the theming is just so good.

Yes, AIE is a great show. You should go see it!

I still have not made it to AIE. It looks like so much fun!!!!

Aww, you still haven't made it?! :guilty:

Great update. I've only seen AIE once, but I was also impressed with it. I think we'll try to hit it again next time we go to DHS.

Thanks. We all just love the show.

It is neat that they've added the new contestants. :thumbsup2

Wow so many details from the AIE show. Sounds like you really love this show. Hope your school year is going well.

haha, yes we do love it being huge Idol fans.

School's going well. I can't believe it's already been a month!

Oh yeah, the finale is even better than the regular shows so you should try to make one of them. You do have to get there earlier though. I remember seeing Nicole on that show too. It was called Popstars!

ugh. Your TRs alwasy make me want to go to AIE so bad. But no one will go with my - even my dad who is a major AI fan. :confused3

Aww, really? Why doesn't he want to go if he likes the real show? But yes, you should go see it.

love your trip report so far! its nice to see SSR pics because we are staying there for the first time in November. cant wait to read more!

Welcome! Glad you are enjoying my TR so far. I posted on your PTR but you guys will love SSR!

Girl, you know I love the AI Experience!

I thought it was awesome they had already put some people from the latest season in the show -Aaron, Lee, Crystal...was there anyone else? I can't remember.

The "pump it up" guy is just like at the real AI? That's cool. I didn't know that!
We have had that guy too. He is hilarious.

That would have been awesome to get advice from Lee!

Sounds like they were singing some good songs. I hate it when the contestants sing boring songs!

haha, yes I do! ;)

I am pretty sure they had all of the top 5 featured at some point during the preshow.

Yeah, I never knew they did that at the real show. Gotta love reading Disney books. You always learn something new.

I agree, it's always more fun when they do songs you like.

The AI Experience looks like fun if you're an AI fan! Which...I'm not! :confused3 :rotfl: I might give it a try someday, but it's not really on the top of my to do list! But I'm glad you had a good time, since you're such a big fan! :cool1:

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I really don't think you have to be an AI fan to enjoy the show. Sure, it might be more fun if you like AI but it's still a lot of fun. If you are looking for something to do you should try it! It's only about 20 minutes long so it's not like it's real long either.

Hey, what do you know, I'm doing an update during the week! Gotta finish it up before Glee tonight. Who else is a Gleek and super excited for tonight's episode?! I've already downloaded a few of the songs and put them on my ipod. :rolleyes1

Anyway, on with the update...

Tuesday, August 10, 2010 cont'd (part 4)

By the time the AIE was over, our stomachs were starting to rumble (well, atleast mine was!). Where did we decide to eat lunch? Pizza Planet, of course! That's without a doubt our favorite quick service place at DHS. Since it was still a little early, we beat the lunch crowd...there was hardly anybody there.

Whenever we eat in the parks, we always end up sharing. We've know how big the portions are and even though my sisters and I are older, we still can't eat everything. I just remember one time when we stayed at the Polynesian we were getting ready to go to a park and outside one of the rooms was a tray piled with food. I'm not even kidding when I say it had an entire pizza, hot dog and other stuff that looked like they had barely even been touched. It just irritates me how much is wasted and I really don't want to contribute to that. Maybe it sounds really weird but it almost makes me feel guilty! Now that I got that out of the way, we ended up getting two pizzas, one cheese and one pepperoni, and a couple bags of apple slices to split. The other thing is that Emma doesn't eat the crust so if I'm still hungry I just eat that. LOL.

After getting our food we found a spot upstairs to sit and enjoy our pizza. It's just so good. And yes, we did end up eating every last bit of those pizzas. Yum.

I liked this picture of the Pizza Planet from the movie. Wouldn't it be cool if it really was like that? Seriously, we love Pizza Planet but sometimes we wish it was more like the movie version. You know, with the guys at the entrance and the alien soda dispensers? haha Come on, admit that you think it would be cool too. ;)

And one of the "ittle green men." OOOOOHHHHH. Best characters in Toy Story.

After enjoying our pizza we headed back outside and found ourselves on the Streets of America. Notice how dark the sky was starting to get. It looked like a shower was on the way which made me kind of nervous considering we were planning to go to the Animal Kingdom later on. We all know how much there is to do inside there.

I just realized though, that in this picture that Emma took, the sky is blue looking in the other direction. But that's typically how it goes.

Two of the things on my must-do list for Hollywood Studios included the following:

1. Meet Lotso

2. Do the Animation Academy

The nice thing about these two things is that they are right in the same building. So that was our next stop. As we made our way back to Animation Courtyard, we stopped near the American Idol Experience to get our picture. We all did our best AI pose and then one of the CMs asked if we wanted one with all three of us.

Here's the result:

When we got to the Animation Courtyard, there were Toy Story signs all over. Banners on the lightposts and this billboard on one of the buildings.

It's always fun to see how the signs change with the release of a new movie.

Another look back at the sky, courtesy of Emma. The sky was still looking pretty ominous so the Animation building was a good choice just in case it did start to rain.

Since we just wanted to meet Lotso and do the Animation Academy, we bypassed the show line and went right into the building. Another Toy Story promotion. I love this poster. So cute with all of the toys.

We decided we would go try and meet Lotso first. If you read my April TR, you might remember how I wanted to meet the Up characters, got in line, but then got out because it was taking too long. Well, now of course they are gone. :sad2: I wasn't going to let that happen again so I was going to have to be patient. Luckily the line wasn't too long. So we hopped in line and began to wait.

I have to say that the way they decorated the area to fit in with Toy Story was ADORABLE! It was themed to Sunnyside Daycare, which is where we meet Lotso in the movie.

And since it was daycare themed, there were all sorts of school-related things all over. Maybe it was the teacher in me but I was freaking out. It was all just so cute! They had the pictures the kids drew (a couple weeks ago I saw TS3 again with Emma when they were playing it down at Marquette and I saw them at the end of the movie. Woody and the gang all made the wall. hehe).

There was also a screen that would show different school announcements. Picture day is coming soon to Sunnyside!

60340_659937478044_20305212_37625287_6499683_n.jpg

I should also mention there were some announcements in Spanish which was kind of cool too. Some of the other cute things were "teatime with mommy" and "teddy bear day." Awwwww. I also like the rules poster right next to it. I can appreciate that as a teacher!

All of the past classes at Sunnyside. I am telling you, these are the cutest animated kids ever. And I love how realistic the pictures are--like there are some kids who are not looking at the camera and stuff. LOL.

More cute posters.

Before long we were up to the front of the line. I think there was one family in front of us. Of course it would figure that right when we got up there Lotso needed to go take a break. Luckily those breaks are never too long so he was back within a couple minutes.

When he first came out, he wanted everyone to cheer for him. I think only me and Emma did, so the attendant told him to go back inside and we would try again. Then everyone finally cheered for him which he enjoyed.

39910_1394071144232_1605780003_31167709_8299641_n.jpg

After the family in front of us went, we all took turns and got our own picture with Lotso. I know he is mean in the movie but he is too cute! And soft and cuddly (and smells like strawberries! OK, I don't know if that Lotso really smelled like strawberries but whatever).

40576_1394071424239_1605780003_31167711_3554350_n.jpg

I think we ended up waiting around 20 minutes or so which wasn't too bad. One must-do down, one more to go!

up next: Who did we learn to draw at the Animation Academy???

I am looking forward to the rest of your report. :)
I'm heading to the world in november (trying to get excited for it).
I am excited to do my first trip report when i get home in november not that i'm going to rush through my vacation in order to post something. lol.

Hi There, Gleek Here! :lmao:

My DSIL just made me a copy of her Glee Complete OST. I have 108 songs from Glee now!

Okay, going back to read your update now.

I so need to see TS3. I am so behind. We never go to movies anymore.

Glad you got to meet Lotso. It would be really cool if the character actually did smell like strawberries.

We've never eaten at Pizza planet. I keep wanting to try it, but we just don't ever remember to and end up at yucky Backlot.

And love the AI pic!

Just read your AIE update too - we still have yet to do that! It will probably have to wait a few years until Henry can truly sit still. If it was bands or dancing he could be entertained, but I know he'd get bored with singing. Or maybe when the boys are off to do LMA I'll hit this up. :scratchin

I like that idea!

I agree with you on the Lotso area! It really is adorable! I asked the CM about him smelling like strawberries and she said he does not - just in case someone had an allergy or the like that came to meet him. However, she said "It is in the air...." so they must spray something somehow so you get a faint smell. This same CM also had a whole backstory on why they allowed Lotso, the mean bear, to be at DHS.

I'm hoping the rain holds off for you ladies!

That queue to meet Lotso has got to be the cutest thing ever! I wish I could've seen it!!!!!

I do wish Pizza Planet was like the real one! I think it's a cute idea but it isn't as awesome as it could be!

Both times we went to the Lotso area it smelled strongly of strawberries :confused3 My dad hated that smell  Glad you got to meet Lotso!

Can't wait to see how your drawing turns out!

I love all of the details from the line area. When we visited Lotso I hadn't seen the movie yet, so I didn't pay attention to all the little details. I do remember thinking how cuddly Lotso was and he really did smell like strawberries.

Lotso really is a sweetheart in the parks. I'm not sure if that makes him cute or if that just makes him feel more two-faced. I was really glad that he didn't have the long waits like the UP characters did though. Not sure if he's less popular or whether only having one characters to greet guests and sign autograph books there makes the line go faster. :confused3
