3 sisters + 2 worlds=5 days of Orlando fun! An Aug. '10 TR...final thoughts p. 45

I'm in! But sorry I'm late. Our trips overlapped by a few days.

Oh, gosh. That is SO many people. I'm not sure I would like rope drop b/c there would be nothing worse than starting my day off "fighting" with a bunch of people to make my way to TSM. You're brave!

I can't wait to try out the new TSM games. Allegedly we're going to try to make DHS EMH in October. A rope drop may be in my future Woohoo! However, all those people look intimidating! The bonus of sleeping in is I've never waited more than 3 people deep to get into the turnstiles.

I loved your pictures of MSEP and the Summer Nightastic fireworks! They turned out really good!

Nice plan of attack for TSM! :thumbsup2 I didn't realize they were adding elements during the refurb; it's cool they added some TS3 characters.

I don't remember EVER watching MSEP or Spectromagic. I'm sure we watched it when I was a kid, but I don't remember anything from it. I know we used to ride rides and then leave the park while it was going on. I just told Howard that I want to see Spectromagic just because of the video you posted with the lights going out! I got really excited and giddy when that happened!

And I also like the music for the start of MSEP!

This really entertained me: "Woo hoo, we're finally to day 2! And it's only taken a month!" because you know where I am in my trip report ... haha.

Cute! I never noticed that sign with the different colored popsicle sticks!

The second time around, I did what you did ... I didn't play during the warm-up game, but Howard did! Haha, I knew I'd be too tired at the end, so I was trying to conserve my energy! I love the way it whips you around. That's my kind of thrill!

I am so happy you were able to see the All Star Mickey at Miller Park. I hope that it is back next year too. I think I will head over to see it when we go on Friday night. Just in case.........:confused3

I really love TSM, too bad it is so busy all of the time. I don't think most of us care about accuracy, just the total score. You both did well. Can't wait to see the added characters. Don't you just love DHS?

I love the rope drop at DHS! Idk why but it just gets me so pumped for day

Good TSM score! I liked the new games but the ride itself was very slow and stopped a lot when we rode it :sad2: I was very excited to see Mr. Pricklepants!

Can't wait to hear your TOT story!

haha, maybe it's the rush of the mad dash toward TSM that is so exciting.

Aww, that stinks. And we were kind of disappointed that on TSM you can't keep getting points like on Buzz. I guess they didn't want that to affect people's scores for the top scores of the day.

Nothing like a little Toy Story Mania to get a DHS day off to a great start. And the weather looks great too.

The weather was pretty good (other than being hot!).

I definitely agree with your plan of attack with TSM. Ride first and then the FP line has gone down. We've done it both ways, and definitely like your way best. Great score by the way!

We always figure there are just so many people who think getting the fastpass first makes more sense but then there's nobody in the regular line! So why not just ride first?

People get crazy in that TSM herd! I thought I was going to get ran over more than once! :headache:

Love the pics though once you got there. I just love that ride. I think it's too short!

Yeah, there are some really crazy people there. I love the ride too! One of my favorites. :thumbsup2

I love TSM but I hate that rush to it! People get so crazy!
Nice score :thumbsup2

I agree to both. Thanks!

I'm in! But sorry I'm late. Our trips overlapped by a few days.

Welcome!

You know, honestly rope drop is not that bad. The worst attractions are TSM and then Soarin because SO many people want to do those first. If you decide to do those later it's not really that bad at all!

I can't wait to try out the new TSM games. Allegedly we're going to try to make DHS EMH in October. A rope drop may be in my future Woohoo! However, all those people look intimidating! The bonus of sleeping in is I've never waited more than 3 people deep to get into the turnstiles.

LOL. You should try to make atleast one rope drop. It's always paid off for us.

I loved your pictures of MSEP and the Summer Nightastic fireworks! They turned out really good!

Nice plan of attack for TSM! :thumbsup2 I didn't realize they were adding elements during the refurb; it's cool they added some TS3 characters.

Thanks for the compliment on the pictures. :)

Yup, they did update the ride after the movie came out. Very cool!

We never used to stay for the night shows either, especially when we were little. But they are fun. When the lights go out for Spectromagic/MSEP it's so cool!

LOL, yeah, I guess I'm just comparing it to some of my first couple TRs where I'd do updates every other day. Of course that was before I had a job...

I love the spinning too. :thumbsup2

I am so happy you were able to see the All Star Mickey at Miller Park. I hope that it is back next year too. I think I will head over to see it when we go on Friday night. Just in case.........:confused3

I wonder what they would do with the Mickey if they don't keep it at Miller Park. Hopefully they just keep it there. Like I said, he was very popular. Everyone wanted to get their picture by it!

I really do enjoy DHS a lot more than I used to. I never used to care for it but now that I like TOT/RNRC and with TSM it's so much more fun!

Is Buzz vinylmation in the parks now? If so, I'm happy to pick it up for you. Let me know. :)

I am pretty sure they are in the parks now. The only thing is they come in those stupid blindboxes so you don't know which figure you're getting (so you couldn't just pick out a Buzz one :sad2:). But thank you so much for the offer!

Awesome updates Sarah! I am glad you are taking a while, I don't seem to get as much DIS time as I would like so then I don't have too much to get caught up on at a time!!

I am glad that the MSEP was only delayed, it looks wonderful, we saw Spectro and that was so neat, I like how the MSEP looks more colorful!! Always fun to stay for the fireworks too, it's always nice to end an evening like that at MK!!!!

The Brewer Mickey is cute, I wonder if the Twins one is at Target field... I found the Twins Mickey online and was sure to leave the page open on the computer so DH could see it...:rolleyes1...

I LOVED dashing to TSMM on our trip, it was so fun to be in the thick of RD!!! So cool to learn they updated a few things with the Toy Story 3 characters, and I LOVE LOVE the Lotso and Woody Vinylmation guys too!! They are so cute!!!!! I will keep my eyes open for a Buzz!!!

I wonder when the appeal of TSM will go down to where the masses aren't crazy in the morning? Maybe we should start an internet rumor that getting there after 12 noon is the best time of day :rotfl:

So the MSEP parade is still going on but the fireworks aren't? Or is Spectromagic back now too?

Hmm, I didn't do anything to get my Mickey Monitor other than buy the AP. They just sent it to me. LOL. That's weird you never got one.
\

Yep, MSEP is still showing, but not the fireworks. MSEP has no current end date - so who knows how long it'll be around!

I sure hope I get the Mickey Monitor this time. I love getting DVC Files and would love another WDW magazine!!! :yay:

It seemed like TSM was slightly less popular this year than last - which makes sense. We got there maybe around 9:30 or so and the line was probably only around 25 minutes - we should have joined it, but we just did FP. Glad you plan worked out for both!

Yay for TSM!!:yay: That's so cool that they have included some new TS3 characters! I didn't realize that they did that!!

People get crazy in that TSM herd! I thought I was going to get ran over more than once! :headache:

Me too, tink! I always dread the rush to TSM, because I feel like I'm going to get trampled, I'm so short.

I am definitely going to ride TSM first and then get FPs next time we go to DHS. That strategy makes a lot more sense!

Sounds like a great morning in DHS! Your braver then me! The TSM stampede scares me! I also try to plan to arrive at DHS a little bit after the park! I can't deal with that many people trying to fight their way to one ride!

Thanks Beth!

If you liked Spectro then you would've enjoyed the MSEP too. It is obviously really similar but it's neat too that it has some of the different floats like the Tinkerbell one and Pete's Dragon.

I'm sure if the Brewers one is at the stadium the Twins one would be too. Especially since the Twins are doing a heck of a lot better than the Brewers are.

Part of me enjoys the dash to TSM but part of me also hates it because it's just so chaotic! I can't imagine being a CM. I bet I would get so frustrated. Let me know if you find a Buzz. ;)

LOL! Think it'll work? :rotfl:

Ahhh, got it. I guess MSEP turned out to be a hit!

I know what you mean, I would want my Mickey Monitor too. Disney magazines are the best. I really miss the old Disney magazine but always look forward to the DVC one and Celebrations.

Wow, 25 minutes is not bad at all. By the time we got out of the ride it was about 9:30 and I think it was longer than 25.

Yay for TSM!!:yay: That's so cool that they have included some new TS3 characters! I didn't realize that they did that!!

I don't think you have to be short to feel like you are going to get trampled.

Yes, it does usually work for us to get our FPs after the ride. We are still confused though why last August the line was literally to the Little Mermaid. :confused3

Sounds like a great morning in DHS! Your braver then me! The TSM stampede scares me! I also try to plan to arrive at DHS a little bit after the park! I can't deal with that many people trying to fight their way to one ride!

Yeah, it is quite the rush to get to TSM!

Gosh, I'm awful. :sad2:
I've just now gotten over here to your TR, but I'm going back to catch up now! :goodvibes

HI Sarah & Sisters.
I had to take a little break from the DIS, sort of got burned out.
Plus 3 new people started at my work place, and I felt like a mother hen all summer, helping them with their jobs.

Hmmm, I maybe at WDW the same time you are. #2 son has a girlfriend, and her family has a timeshare condo in Orlando, and my son asked me if I wanted to rent it for the week. Then after the week is up, my sisters are coming down and we are going to stay at WDW and watch my nephew march at the MK March 28th. And my dh has his convention and he just told me the dates should be announced soon for Orlando. It would be great if it could be within those weeks.

Anyways, enjoying your TR and looking forward to HP.

Aww, don't worry about it. Glad you found me!

Hey Marissa, welcome back to the DIS. :)

Ooh, that would be cool if we were there at the same time. I remember you saying something a while ago about possibly going down to see your nephew march. We could have a DIS meet at the parade. :thumbsup2

Glad you are enjoying the TR...hopefully I'll get to HP soon. I've been horrible at updating lately with school. Atleast tomorrow is Friday.

Tuesday, August 10, 2010 cont'd (part 2)

After obtaining our fastpasses for TSM, it was back to Sunset Boulevard for two more of our all-time favorites. Yes, you know what I'm talking about, two of the biggest thrills this side of Neverland, to quote (or try to quote) Stacey.

We decided to do Tower of Terror first. I think the wait was posted at about 20 minutes which was a little longer than I was hoping but still not bad. I know that as we were walking through the queue I was admiring this lady's pins she had on her backpack. LOL. There was also another lady and her daughters behind us who were reading the Hidden Mickey book. Fun!

A couple shots from the queue looking up at the hotel, courtesy of my sisters:

When we finally made it into the library, we were directed to the one of the left which I don't ever remember doing before. Not that it makes a difference, it just seems we always go to the one on the right. This is where we got a really good laugh. The cast member told everyone to fill in all the empty space and such, just like they usually do. Since we just missed getting into the other preshow, we were up in front, right near the doors. Well, there was this couple in front of us (the lady with the pins!) who were also right up there. As the CM opens the library doors, the lady got so startled that she nearly fell over! She stumbled backward and just caught her balance. You know how some of the TOT CMs are so in character that they'll make faces and such? Nope, that didn't even happen. He just opened up the doors. It was great. Then when we got into the library there were these two younger guys near us too. I think Emma said something like, "I'd hate to see what she reacted like when they open these doors!" to which one of the guys traded places with Emma. haha Guess he didn't want to be by the door.

Soon we were directed into the boiler room and ready to enter the Twilight Zone. I knew there were going to be some new effects for the Summer Nightastic so I was hoping I'd notice them. There was one part as you were moving into the elevator shaft where they flashed a picture of our ride vehicle and then made everyone disappear. Oooh, spooky!

The ride was great as usual. I still think it's funny how much my opinion of that ride has changed since the first time I rode it. I think part of what makes it so fun is that even though I've ridden it several times now, the uncertainty is kind of exciting. You never know when you're going to drop and you can't help but scream. Love it. :thumbsup2

Our next stop then was RNRC of course.

Because the wait was building up we ended up doing single riders (cue "All the Single Riders" now). We were pretty much able to walk right up to the area right outside the preshow. I was thinking we weren't going to have to wait too long at all. Boy was I wrong! The cast member who was controlling the line was horrible! OK, I know that stand-by and fastpass people get to go first, but she would let in a ton of standby people and fastpass people and NOBODY in single riders. I honestly think we stood there for almost 15 minutes without even moving. Ugh! In fact, we waited so long they actually changed CMs. haha Eventually we finally got into the preshow but it had already started by the time we got in there (which really I guess is not too big of a deal since we've seen it before). But it was still really frustrating that we stood there for so long. Let's just say RNRC's single riders line is not the most efficient of the rides that offer it. Needless to say, we still enjoyed the ride.

I have to share this picture that Emma took when we got out. So cool how she got both the guitar and the Hollywood Tower Hotel in one shot.

It took us nearly an hour and a half to do all three of those rides. But since we made it out of RNRC early enough, we were able to head over to see the first showing of...

up next: American Idol!!!!

Love the shot of RnR and Tot. Very cool. We always end up going into the library on the right too, for some reason. I totally agree, no many how many times I ride ToT there's always that spooky feeling and I get butterflies in my stomach. Love that ride, it's my favorite :goodvibes
