3 seats across?

I'm looking for an airline that has 3 seats across.

SW, Jet Blue and United have them on the flights I am watching in Oct. Check Seat Guru and it will show you what the seats are like for the plane you are looking at.

American Airlines does three seats across.

It depends on the airplane. Other than SW all airlines have different types of planes - some of which may have 3 seats across, others not.

This is more airplane configuration specific then airline. Airplanes vary greatly based on the make and model (just like cars).

Also, its good to note that seats assignments are never guaranteed (even on flights where you select your seats in advance) and if you miss a connection or flight, you may be subsequently rebooked on another flight that may not have the same configuration.

Regional Jets are either 1 x 2 or 2 x 2. Most full size jets are 2 x 3 or 3 x 3, widebodies also have a section in the middle.

On my Delta flights they have 3 seats across. Also when I flew Airtran in July they had 3 seats across as well.

It doesn't depend on the airline, it depends on the plane. Airlines do change planes depending on how many seats are sold. So you could start out with a flight that shows you have 3 seats across, and end up on a flight that has 2 across. There is no way to 100% guarantee that the type of plane you book on is the type of plane you will be flying on.

It depends on the airplane more than the airline. Some airlines use different types of planes on different routes.

AirTran also has three seats across. One of their airplanes has 2 seats on one side and three on the other. Their other type of airplane has 3 seats on both sides of the aisle.

If you are on a small commuter plane which frequently happens in and out of smaller airports then many of those do not have three seats together on one side of the aisle. Flying in an out of Portland, Maine I often am on a commuter flight and most of those are usually one seat on the one side of the aisle and two seats on the other side of the aisle.

Not all their planes. I was on 4 flights in April, all were 2 x 2 (CRJ).

The website www.seatguru.com lists most of the airlines and gives you a seat plan for each different aircraft that they fly. It will also tell you the best and worst seats on the plane.
