Day 3 – Epcot and Disney Studios
This last minute trip was enjoyed by all. We booked the Recipe Club deal through swandolphin.com and paid $139 a night (b4 taxes and charges ) and got a heavenly bed, and $50 meal credit for staying at least two nights. We're going again in December with alot of folks, so this was a trip for us. Plus other reasons, the rest of the summer is super busy and I start my MBA in the fall which will take up more time than I have.

Cast
Me 38 – Self proclaimed Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Super Planner
Wife 39 – Fellow Disney Nut laughs at me
DD 15 – Blessed child 1
DS 8 – Blessed child 2

I wake up about 7 (so much for sleeping in )and take a shower, make a cup of tea, and eat a pop tart. Every one else slowly rises and gets ready by about 8:50. We head down to catch the Epcot boat and we arrive at the International Gateway about 9:15 Head towards the Land, ride Living with the Land and see Food Rocks before getting some serious sugar at the Land food court: choc chip cookie, Mickey ice cream bar, and chocolate cake ( I don’t think we got the Food Rocks message J ) Then head out to Innoventions and The Living Seas. We really relaxed and took our time through these exhibits/attractions and enjoyed them much more than on previous visits when we were in “High Gear”mode. It was now about 11:45 so we decided that we’d head towards WS for some lunch. Before eating we made our way onto the Figment Imagination ride, and stopped afterwards to email pics from the Kodak fun center.

Walked back through the beautiful rose gardens and decided on Le Cellier at the Canada Pavillion. Lunch was pretty good, but not spectacular. DD and DW split a steak and they said it was very tasty but a bit chewy. I got the Asian Wasabi Shrimp salad and it was good, but the Wasabi was very strong. After the meal we saw the Oh Canada movie. OK, but the kids and wife thought it was a bit boring.

Head back to the hotel and out to the pool. Got better luck from the rain gods this time and swim for about 90 minutes. Get back to the hotel and shower and change to go to MGM, make PS for Sci Fi Diner at 7:15. Arrive at the Studios about 5:10 and stay around the entrance to grab a front row for the Stars and Motor cars parade. While we’re waiting the showers start, fortunately we’re by the movie memorabillia store and have cover. The showers stop in time for the parade to proceed as planned at 5:30. We had great seats for the parade and loved the character interaction with the crowd. A Toy Story plastic green soldier and one of the Mushu shook our DS hand.

After the parade we had planned to get our picture with my favorite character Sorcerer Mickey. After winding our way through the crowds, we found an extremely long line for pictures so we headed back towards the backlot tour. It wasn’t going to open up for a while so we snuck through to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playset. This was a first for us and we enjoyed the oversized props and climbing areas. After this we walked through New York Street and made our way to Star Tours. Line was very short and everyone loved the ride.

Walking back towards the Sorcerer’s Hat we stopped by the Great Movie Ride and hopped on for a spin. Didn’t notice much difference in the new dialog, but it still is an enjoyable ride. Though the end film clip montage does need updating or at least a fresh copy as the images were very dull and grainy.

We then tried to get into see the Little Mermaid, but unfortunately all seats for the remaining two shows were filled. We then made our way to One Man’s Dream. I think this is one of the best exhibits anywhere and hope they keep it at the Studios for a long time. The movie is very well done and gives a brief glimpse into the genius of Walt.

After the movie it was time to head back to Sci Fi. We arrived about 5 minutes early and waited for about 10 in the book store next to the diner. This was our first time at the Sci Fi and we enjoyed the “cars” and movie clips. Dinner was good, I can’t remember the name of our entree, I think it was a potato bake thing with grilled veggies and white sauce. We also got a spinach dip appetizer. I do remember that DS’s chocolate milkshake was very good.

After dinner we thought about catching the last tour of the Animation Studios, but decided we were pretty tuckered out and made our way back to the boat dock. Arrived just in time to catch the boat back to the Swan for our last night in the Heavenly beds :(

I forgot to mention on Day 2s report, at the end of the evening we made it back to our resort and wanted desert. We stopped by Palio and though they were just about closed, they took our desert order as a carry out and gave us plenty of take out utensils, plates, napkins so we could enjoy the banana ice cream/choclate cake/pie creation It was pricey but quite tasty!!

and 90 minutes to boot.....wow......I dont think we did that good last Labor Day.....you did alot in epcot and MGM......I love star tours and can do that multiple times in a row if the lines are short.....thanks so much for your report
