3 Months out...PLAN, PLAN, PLAN...that is the plan...

WTHeck am I thinking...3 months to plan our first Disney Trip?? And for just me and the kiddo??? Who hit their head?? Someone has gone crazy...

So here is the Cast...Me... a 40+ closet Disney loving Mom. I have a super hard working loving supportive DH...who is not at all a Disney lover *the HORROR!!* I also have 3 other 'men' in my life... almost 19 yo ds...who is quirky and fun, 13 yo ds who is too cool for anyone in his life, including himself and my newly 7 yo ds. He is sensitive and a bit of a momma's boy *which I am TOTALLY ok with!!* and loves Disney.

The main players in my story will be me and yds... *dh only when the bill comes in! LOL*

Backround...I was going to run the Princess Marathon in Feb. Works out that the weekend of the marathon is a HUGE hockey weekend for MDS and I CAN'T miss it... I will run when my kids or done with sports... BUT I still wanted to go to Disney...then, free dining came out for the fall... I priced it for the first week...started to run the numbers by DH and he said that there is no way he will be out of work that week... then, MDS fell by the wayside...he had no interest in going Something about missing the first 2 days of high school... what ever!! Then ODS says...I didn't know I had a choice...I will just stay home. So I talked to yds..asked if he wanted to go to Disney with just his Mom...of course...the answer was a resounding yes...

So here we are...in 3 months I will be taking my little man to Disney... Now I just have to plan it out.... sounds easy enough right?

So far...

I am running the numbers for which resort we want to stay at... Pop, ASports, or if DH is agreeable to the larger ticket a Pirate room at the Caribbean Resort...

I am working out the dining details...At first it was definite Deluxe... but I am starting to think we would be fine with Regular... If we stay at the Caribbean I think I will have to cut deluxe...

Flights are crazy...there is no way around it, but I am watching for deals...

Next is on to itinerary...

So far it isn't much and I know I can start to get fast passes starting today but we will deal...since we don't really know what we are doing we will go easy on me!!!

So...remember the 'plans'...yeah...toss those....

I started to get overwhelmed while reading all of the stuff about FP and FP+ and ADR and abbreviation after abbreviation...

I called a vacation planner. I didn't want her to do it all...just guide and help.

So once she sent me the price breakdown, we tossed All Star resorts totally and she ran the numbers for three levels of resorts with the different dining plans. We were set...POP for August 31-Sept 6 with Deluxe. I mean SET. I sent her the contract...we were going!!!!

And then, planes.

I started to price out the flight and we were actually going to get to stay an extra day and save money!!! So now, August 31-Sept 7 for $60 cheaper.

And then, planes.

Flights went up. Of course. Now we are just watching flights and I think I have it all worked out. If they don't budge over the next week I am just sucking it up (and not telling DH) and paying the fees and being done with it.

So, the VP is working on our ADRs. I have given her a list of what we like. DS wants lots of character meals. She changed my plans due to crowds and hours parks are open. That is why I decided to use a planner. I don't know what I am doing.

But ... we are still going!!
