I'm a little confused with the "You can't book and stay within three months of your UY" rule. Is it both book and stay within the 3 months, or can you book later out, and stay within the 3 months?

I'm thinking of rescheduling our Member Cruise because Im not sure if my knee will be recovered enough from my knee replacement. I will need to use the points in my 2012 UY (Dec). I'm thinking of changing it to next year's (October 2013) Halloween Cruise on the Dream, but that would be in the 3 month rule period. If I BOOK it before that three-month time frame, would I be able to do the cruise?

It's 4 months. From the member website:
Rule of Four
You cannot book and travel on The Disney Collection, (excluding Disneyland© Resort Hotels in California and Tokyo Disney Resort®), Concierge Collection and Adventurer Collection vacations within the last 4 months of your Use Year. However, you can travel in the last 4 months of your Use Year as long as you've booked your stay more than 4 months before the end of your Use Year.

:banana::banana::banana: Thanks!! I don't know why I had 3 months in my brain...but at least now I know that if I book before the 4 months, I can still stay within that time period!! Halloween Cruise, here we come....though we may decide to do the 2013 Sept Cruise instead. Decisions, decisions!! In a perfect world, they'd do the Member's Cruise in October, so we can do Food and Wine in the same trip!

If you are wanting to reschedule an existing cruise reservation to a later date, the 4 month rule does not apply since the points will already be in reservation status (meaning they can only be used for one of the non-DVC options- and not at a DVC resort).

They could be used at any time - even to reserve and travel during the last 4 months of your Use Year. Thos points could not be banked though and would expire at the end of the Use Year of the cancelled reservation. There will be an additional $95 fee for any changes made to the original reservation.
