Oh boy, it's a girls-only trip! We're in our 30's/40's and we have 4 nights. Where would you eat?

It's somehow seems easier to make choices for my family. Now it's all about me, and I'm almost at a loss!

If you want good food and a relaxing atmosphere, try Jiko's in AKL. It's one of the most "grown-up" restaurants in WDW. If you want more "Disney" feel, any of the character dinners would be fun! :thumbsup2

Definitely do the Grand Floridan Tea. It's a great relaxing afternoon break.

First tell us about your friends: are they picky eaters, on special diets, have allergies etc?

What a great opportunity to be a grown-up again! I would book a fabulous restaurant for a *late* dinner each night (to avoid others' children - not much point to leaving yours at home if you have to listen to the whining anyway !LOL) One night at Cali grill, fireworks during the appetizers, one night at Bistro de Paris, appetizers during Illuminations, one night at Citricos or Narcoosees, one at Flying Fish.

Oh, to dream, only more years until I can do this again. :)

We will be getting away kidless and husbandless for 3 days and 2 nights in October!!!:cool1: :cool1: I can not believe it!!

We plan to attend the Wine and Food Festival at Epcot.

I did plan and ADR for Jiko's at AKL the night we arrive. I have always wanted to eat there.:thumbsup2

I think the Callifornia grill would be good to or anywhere at DD or pleasure Island. Lots of clubs and shops in that area.

You will have a blast!! I can not wait....:dance3:

We can not talk about it too much at home or DD gets upset...:sad2: Too bad...She is going with me in September so she can not complain..

I just happend to win 3 days/2 nights at the S/D from being the podcast monthly winner...So I decided to make it a "girls only" trip.:cloud9:

I've done this a couple times. :) Some of the fun things we did are:

DISmeet dinners at Jiko, Boma and California Grill
Walking around F&WF and "sampling"
Drinks and fun at Jellyrolls
Lots of pool and jazucci time

OOOHHHH what a fun trip!

I would make ressies for Jiko and CA Grill.

Lucky you. You all will have a magical time. enjoy

We are not picky, not big on "fancy" food, one has shellfish allergies, 2 eat pretty small portions, 2 LOVE margaritas.

Some of the collective favorites have been: Teppanyaki, Liberty Tree, Chefs De France.

I have eaten at many WDW restaurants and did not like Le Cellier or Brown Derby.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL time.

I too and going with just a girlfriend next month (my boys are staying with their dad for the summer, what they don't know won't hurt them)

I think the most fun place to eat, with wonderful food, is O'Hanas. I love the casual and friendly atmosphere, and plan on going with my girlfriend next month.

Another fun/casual place is Crystal Palace.

I agree the GF afternoon tea would be great too.

Have a good trip, and enjoy yourself!

DRINK!!! ALOT!!! :rotfl:

Just kidding (mostly). There is a counter service in Mexico that serves Margaritta's. I've never had one there, but they can't be bad! Maybe you should try restaurants in resorts that you have never tried before like maybe Kona? Or Artist Point? There is a Clam Bake dinner at Cape May that people on the Dis say is really good.

Try to go to places you wouldn't necessarily go with the kids, and book your ADR's for later times. Have a great time whatever you decide! :goodvibes

Another vote for afternoon tea! Sleep in, get a late breakfast, and do the tea for a late lunch. It's actually a lot of food!

Is there anywhere you want to try that you wouldn't with your family because of picky eaters? Boma or Marrakesh, for example?

I am also doing girls only week. 5 of us, no husbands and no kids. We have made ADR's at Portobello's in DTD, LeCellier, the Polynesian, 1900 Park Fare then we are doing MVMCP and dinner at Tonys, Fantasmic and MM, and then breakfast one morning at the Grand Floridian.. Can't wait. we are a little older 50's
