hi everyone does anyone know the cheapest disney resort that caters for two adults and three kids ages 6 10 13 in a family room.withb all star resorts you have to book 2 rooms im wondering if it would be cheaper in a different hotel if we were allowed to stay in 1 room .hope you can help thanks wesky.

Hi Wesky,

You can sleep 5 in a room at Port Orleans Riverside- have a look at the Resorts forum http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=12 for details. I think one room here for your family would work out cheaper than 2 at the All Stars (plus Port Orleans is a lovely resort)

The 5th person has to sleep in a "trundle" bed but I'm sure that would be fine for one of your children :)

With kids of that age it's going to be a squeeze. I don't think any single hotel room is going to make for a comfortable holiday.

IMHO on Disney your options are fairly limited. There are the DVC resorts but a 2 bedroom one of those is going to work out very expensive, even if you rented points from a member. The only decent option for space and cost is one of the cabins at Fort Wilderness. http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/resorts/FortWilderness/rooms.htm . and http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/resorts/ftwildrooms.htm

Before I wandered round Fort Wilderness I'd not have entertained the idea as my (mis)conception was of staying in a caravan, but that really isn't the case and if you're dead set on staying on site this really does give the best value for money for a family of your size.

For the family of five as it has been said the most economical resort would be the Port Oleans Riverside Trundle room. basically the trundle is 54 inches long, and is designed for a child under 9 yr. old.

I did find a picture of the trundle rooms to give you better idea

the Fort Wilderness Cabins are the most economical in the home away from home category. and with some of the discount codes that come out are very reasonable plus they have a full kitchen.

the next most economical rates for the home away from homes right now are the Villas at Old Key West, and the new Saratoga Springs
Room Type: Two Bedroom Villa
Villas offer views of water, woodlands, or fairways. The two-bedroom, two-bath Villa has a fully-equipped kitchen, dining area, full-size washer and dryer, and private patio. The master bedroom suite includes a king-size bed and whirlpool tub. The second bedroom area has two queen-size beds. The living area has a queen-size sleeper sofa.

Hi Wesky

Another vote for Port Orleans Riverside. We stayed there last year and it was excellent. The boat to Downtown Disney in the evenings was particular favourite of mine.
