3 kids...7, 4 and 6 months- 1 double or 2 single strollers?

What stroller combo?

  • 1 double

  • 2 singles

  • OTHER (please explain)

I voted two singles. Our last trip kids were 7,4 and 1. I didnt think we would ever split up but a few times we did as DS was still sleeping or someone wasnt feeling well. It was nice to each be able to take a stroller. I also find singles easier to push in crowds and to manage on the buses.

You could always get a stroller connector too and hook your two singles together when and if you wanted.

Strollers availablre are a baby jogger city mini and a Mac. Volo. Wearing the smallest child would be a big part of the day.

thank you for the insights, both sides have given me something to think about :)

I would bring the double. My kids will be roughly those ages next year and thinking about it, I'd bring the double. We've done 2 singles with the kids we have now, but there are 2 of them, not 3. One of us always had to push a stroller. If one kid didnt want to ride and we parked the stroller, then we had to trek back to get it. Last year, when they were 4yo and 21 months, we got a double stroller and it was a lot easier. Heavier to push, but at least we could take turns. If one wanted to walk, then it just made the stroller that much lighter, but at least we didn't have to go back for it somewhere.

We're headed to WDW next week, and I'll be alone with my kids (3yo and 5.5yo) and I'm just bringing the Mac Volo. They can take turns in it. So I figure next year I will bring the double and they can take turns, or if they both *need* to ride, I can wear the baby.

I've gone twice with kids aged 5, 3 and 1 and brought my double stroller and my single. My eldest gets whiney if she can't ride too. I also bring a sling to carry the baby in lineups etc.

I like having the double because it can also hold more "stuff" like raincoats, drinks, diaper bag etc. Also, it was easier for my 3 or 1 year old to nap in the rear of the graco double because it lays flat and I would clip a light blanket over the top to block out the sunlight.

I'm a little torn on this one. We've always taken doubles. First for our older 2 who are now 10 and 8 and then later for our younger 2 who are now 4 and 2. It always worked out great because of the 2 year age difference with our kids. There weren't many rides that the 2 year old could go on that the baby couldn't and then the 3 year old and 1 year old etc.

There is such a big gap between your baby and 4 year old that I think I might go for two singles, depending on how much your 4 year old enjoys going on rides that aren't appropriate for the baby. That way you have the option of dividing by taking the 4 year old to ride rides with the 7 year old and whoever has the baby can take a break :thumbsup2

And definitely take a sling or other baby carrier - it was invaluable - not just walking around the park, but on rides as well!

Sorry I'm not more helpful :goodvibes

I'd bring one double. I always wish I had more hands and having to push only one stroller and freeing up others to do whatever else is needed would be more helpful to me. BTW, I have four- 10, 7, 4 and 1.
