We will be arriving for our 2 1/2 day visit on Monday @ 3 pm ish.

I want to do DL that night, but wanted to go to CaAdv. for 3 hrs. (@ 3pm). Won't be doing TofT, Screamin or Maliboomer, so I was thinking of the following (me & a 7 y/o boy) pirate: :

- Grab a Soarin' FP (or ride it).
- Grab a Griz River FP.
- Sun Wheel.
- Jumping Jellyfish.
- Carousel.
- Redwood Creek Trail (or Griz River).
- Soarin.
- Muppets :3dglasses (is this the same as in WDW?).

How does this sound?

Thanks!

Sounds good to me. But I would try to ride Monster's Inc if possible. Its very cute and a nice, tame dark ride your 7 year old would probably love, especially if he's seen the movie. If not, rent it, its one of the best tie in's to a movie of any ride I have ridden at WDW or DL. It does not have fastpass but the line should be pretty non existant near closing time. As long as you get in line by closing, you can ride it even if the wait time is past when the park will close.

Yes, Muppets is the same as the WDW one and its right near Monster's Inc.

Also, as of the last I heard (and its been this way forever) the fastpass machines at Grizzly River Run are not linked. So you can get one for Soarin and then go right over and get one for GRR.

Your plan looks pretty jam-packed and fun!! I live in San Diego, so have become a weather whimp (blood has seriously thinned since my Midwest upbringing)...but I wouldn't be all that excited about a water ride in the afternoon. Last time I rode Grizzley Falls, I got drenched..which was dandy since it was 75 degrees and sunny and early enough in the day that I was dry by the time the sun went down!!
You guys might be tough...but I whine when I am cold and wet!!!
If anyone has ANY motion sickness issues, DO NOT do a swinging gondola on the Sunwheel. My family of three only made two full revolutions before we asked to be left off.....I was green, and my DD and DH were not all that much better!!!
Oh, have fun!! Cal. Adventure is never all that crowded as compared to DL!!

Kiddo & I both LOVE the Muppets 3D & Kiddo LOVES Monster Inc, so that is great info. :thumbsup2

I read HydroGuy's excellent info & I thought i saw that the Griz FP was "de-linked". (It pays to know the "cool guys" :cool2: )

One more question....is Crush a "crowded" event like at WDW? Think we should try to sneak over there in the afternoon as well??

We'll be going to CaAdv. the following day for a few hours, (to do all the Bugs stuff & hopefully TofT) so we don't have to do "everything".

Thanks Again.

No problem if we can't fit it in....I just like to have a plan of attack. :darth:

I'm hoping it might be warm....& after running around for a couple of hours the Griz would be a nice cool down. :boat:

Great info on the Sunwheel....we'll do the non-swinging side.

Thanks. :thumbsup2

Crush can be packed, but I have been there during the week, and had it not so.....walk in, get a good seat....DD plenty of space around her in the front. so, likely a good choice.
Wish I was going!! Monster's Inc. is cute, and there is almost always a character meet and great going on across the street with a pretty small line. I have gotten some really fun photos with Mr. Incredible...shooed Mrs. away!!
The Alladdin show is really good if your family does shows!! My dd is still a big princess kid, she is always willing. It is another good opportunity to cool off!!!
Again, have a blast!!! Say Hi to Mr. Incredible for me!!:yay:

:sad2: Screaming and ToT are two of the top 3 rides at DLR......They are not intense or scary, despite how they appear. I would go for it!!!!!!:thumbsup2

We did TofT with him (at Studios) 18 mos. ago & it scared him, (probably shouldn't have pushed it...I'm one of THOSE types of parents...:rolleyes1).

Thought we'd try it (& Space & Indy) the second day. Gonna do the Matterhorn at EE (the next morning) & work our way up the TERROR ladder. :scared:

I think if they'd call TofT the "Whacky - Bouncy Elevator" or sumthin....the kid would be ok. :yay:

My next post ISO will address plan of attack on EE fantasyland etc. :smickey:

Crush is crowded but its in a larger theater than the WDW one so it holds more people. Even last June on a very crowded day I was able to get into it with my nieces pretty easily. You can sit on the floor and wait which is nice.

And try TOT again. The DL one is not as scary since it doesn't go through the part where the elevator is moving forward. It just goes up, some doors open to reveal a hallway/door thing that then disappears and then begins dropping. Most think its not as good as WDW's since it doesn't have that one whole section. And 18 mos is a long time with kids, I know my daughter would not ride several things such as Screamin and Matterhorn on our October trip when she was seven but in February loved them both. Also, Indy is almost identical to Dinosaur at AK so if he rode that and liked it, he will like Indy. Same ride vehicles and concept. Have a great time in DL!

Oh and also remember that the fp machines at DL/DCA are not linked. That makes park hopping even more ideal and easy at DL.

Oh, my kids would ride it for sure! The name is what has them running in the other direction... :scared1:

I'd personally skip the jumpin jellyfish and carousel. Go for Mulholland madness instead. My DS 4 loves it...
