SW will no longer service Raleigh/Durham which means we'll have to fly out of Charlotte - a longer drive for Mia to the airport and back. I REALLY miss living in Boston and it is getting worse here with time. Speaking of SW - looks like I am going lose a $302 credit.:sad2: Since it was 2 flights and they charge $75 per flight to extend, I am not sure it's worth remembering to call to ask for the extension. I would not be able to book flights until receiving the certificate in the mail, which will be early October!:scared1: Airfares will be outrageous by then. This week I am beginning to feel I am never meant to go back to Disney. Cruise did not work out, my trip with Sophia is not looking good, November in Boston is likely going to have to be canceled... And having to wait to buy airfare for December until October ..Well, there just might be one less Grannie on the Grannie trip. :worried:

Sorry for the grumpy post...it's been one of those weeks....which around here seems to be every week. On top of that, this darn internet connection has been bumping me off all week. We had to switch servers and this one is way too aggravating - cannot watch any video on line and trying to post takes several tries. :furious: I have much to be thankful for...internet service and Disney is not on the list right now! ;)

It is great to read everyone's good news though!!! Always gives me reason to smile!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes.

Christine I know what you mean about "being one of those weeks". Keep the faith, think positively! I hear you about the wait to buy airline tickets, I was hopeing to have enough points to buy one RT ticket but with prices being so high it looks as if I will only have enough for one leg of one ticket :worried: Thing is most of my FF points expire 12/31/13. Trying to keep this trip as budget friendly as possible. We were able to book a Std view room at the Poly with our park tickets for less that the price of Rack Rate on the room for 5 days. :)

That is great news about the Poly, Sheila! Have you added requests? If not, I suggest two - third floor and pretty view. (Third floor so you get a balcony!). Pretty view is generic but it is a good request to help not facing a wall! Do you have a Longhouse you like from visiting or reading about the Poly? Ours has always been Tokelau because it is between the Great Ceremonial House and TTC . It also has some nice lagoon views for standard rooms. :thumbsup2 And the rooms are HUGE! Larger than even the original Longhouses.

If I could take Sophia and stay at the Poly I was considering breaking tradition and requesting Figi Marina view, 3rd floor. It would be super close to GCH and very nice views...hallways are narrow and rooms smaller than Tokelau ( I love the sitting area near the elevator in Tokelau too).

So exciting!!!

I requested Fiji 1st floor patio, Luau Cove Side.

As I started researching the various Longhouses I liked Fiji. I want to try 1st floor this trip so I don't have to use the elevator with the scooter. I have to say I was torn between the Marina Side and Luau Cove Side but decided on Luau cove side because of Bob and his restless leg syndrome since he gets up and walks around when it bothers him, this way he can walk out on the grass or even the beach easily if he wants to, next time maybe we will try the Marina side.

I'm not sure how many days until the Grannie trip ... we really should count just so we don't miss our ADR date! Grocery money ... we'll worry about that once you get there. I do plan to get the shopping done before you all get there ... don't want to waste any Disney time doing that! :rotfl2:

SW does a lot of sales at 6 to 8 weeks out so you should be okay with Oct. They just had a sale this last week that was good thru June 8th. So I for one am going to think nothing but good thoughts for you!!!!

So sorry to hear about all of this, Christine! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that at least some of your plans will come through.

Thanks, my sweet friends. :goodvibes I came back to delete the post because I felt bad for venting this morning. I have MUCH to be grateful for - just been a run of almost a year of disappointments. All will be well!!! I have wonderful friends and family and that means far more to me!

Rosie, great idea about the train! We do have Amtrak out of Durham, about 90 mins from Greensboro. It goes through at 9:30 p.m. in the winter and it is a pretty creepy station so would not want to wait around alone and or want Mia driving home that late because roads are not treated here.

Janet and I took the train home in 2010 - it was fine, not sure I would want to do it alone for so many hours (Janet was on the train several hours after I got off and said it was a really long ride alone), especially getting on in the dark - it is similar to a station in the worse part of a city.. From Boston we took the train to Orlando for 5 trips and it was fabulous! Trains are not the same as then - it was creepy getting on in Orlando. From Boston I took amtrak to NY and Philly all the time- LOVED business/club class!!::yes::

Sheila, sounds like Figi will be perfect - the Cove side has really lovely views!

Christine everyone needs a place to vent .... that's what we're here for!

I agree with everyone else who has commented Christine! Sometimes we all hit a valley streak in our lives. Some we just have to verbalize it to overcome, and sometimes we need the support of those around us who care about us! One of the best parts of the DIS community is the friendship and love we get from each other here, at times when people just want to show they care, and at times even moreso when we need it!

Never hesitate to rely on the love and support of your friends here on the DIS to help pick you up when you need it most!

Have to agree with you for all of Mr Elous's cracks I count him as aspecial friend !!:wave2: Christine we both know the Dis Community is the cheapest therapy around !! I do not know what I would do without you all !! After the day I had , I shared it and as I wrote it some joy and humor crept in and I think I was able to convey the trajedy with a little comedy and I know tomorrow the comedy and the joy will far outweight the trajedy !!!:goodvibes

Christine and Rosie- We all come here to share the good , bad and sometimes ugly....
 all around today for those having a rough time of it.

Very Special friends here on the DIS. ::yes::

Christine - SW also stopped direct service from Greenville to Orlando. They did start direct service from Charlotte. At first the prices were lower but watch those sales. Check every Tuesday if you have to and the ride should not be any worse that to RDU...

Rosie- I said on your thread but FULL MOON!!!! :rolleyes1

Christine, that's what friends are for ...... to share with you life's up and downs. And we will always be here for you to understand and help.
