3 girls, MNSSHP and more food than we can handle an Oct 2012 PTR *Mini TR Link*

Yay on finalising your breakfast list! I'm looking forward to hearing how you find Crystal Palace for lunch.

The only place I have eaten out of your dinner choices was California Grill and I loved our meal as well as being able to see Wishes on our second night! Make sure you order the chocolate valrhona cake for dessert - it's amazing :lovestruc

I will have to remember that! I better put in my notes or I will forget

Wow a month since i have been on this PTR I'm really sorry :rolleyes1

I have started a new job that I love and is pretty close to home (new thing for me and I love it)

Also I am sure everyone has been really busy with Christmas and I hope Santa was good to everyone!!!

I am going to go work on and update to post on here!

Tony's gets mixed reviews on here. Me and DH when in June for our disneymoon and I thought it was decent but my DH didn't like it. He said the pasta tasted like Chef Boyardee. I didn't get the pasta so maybe thats why I didn't mind it :) We were going to go back in January because it was convenient for the MK day but now that they have added Portobello's (downtown disney italian restaurant) we have decided to try that out instead. I'll let you know how the food is ;)

Thanks!

That's why we are eating there too... it's convenient on the party night. I have never tried it but Emma loves Lady and the Tramp so I figure we should at least give it a try.

That's funny, we have a restaurant here called Portobello and I will be eating there January 20th

I have not booked my flights yet but I am hoping for an early one. I will get off work on the Friday afternoon and hopefully have the luggage by the door so I can grab the kids and load the car. I am not sure if we will stay at my brother’s house in Niagara Falls and have him drive us to the airport in the morning or if we will head straight to Buffalo and stay in a hotel for the night. I like the idea of a hotel as we have never done it before and we can just get up in the morning and be shuttled to the airport. I will probably get a hotel. The first flight out is usually around 6am and we haven’t done an early flight in a while so I’m up for that.

Hopefully we will arrive around 8:30am and hop a bus to the resort

I have never seen Port Orleans Riverside so I am really excited to stay there!

I am hoping we will arrive at the resort before 10am. Hopefully our room will be ready and we will get our request of one of the rooms with the new murphy beds

Got that pic from portorleans.org (great website to check out if you are thinking of staying at either Port Orleans resort)

Emma is excited to stay here cause she will get her own bed and not have to sleep on the floor. I am excited to have a Queen size bed all to myself. I was debating going to a park this day but I have decided we should spend the afternoon just checking out the resort. Maybe we will head to Ol’ Man Island and take a swim

I am going to book our dinner at California Grill. We have stayed at the Contemporary before but we didn’t eat here. I was very cautious about eating here because the girls are very picky but I figure Eryka can order off the Kids Menu. Anyone ever had a child over 10 order off the Kids menu here?

I think I will have the Heirloom Apple Salad to start and the Oak-Fired Filet of Beef as my main course.

For dessert I hear the Valrhona Chocolate Cake is good but I think it is too much chocolate for me so I think I will probably try the Bananas and Caramel.

The kids will most likely order the grilled chicken breast and ice cream for dessert.

I am thinking of booking for around 5pm but want to check the Wishes schedule for that night as it would be nice to watch it when we are finished dinner.

I hear Dinner here takes around 3 hours… is that normal?

After we are done at CG we will head back to the hotel and get to bed so we will be refreshed for our first day in the park!!!

Great first day plans! I think relaxing around Riverside rather then heading to a park sounds like a good call.

I'm sad to hear you will not be ordering the choc valrhona cake at CG but can understand going for the bananas and caramel option instead.

You should post in the restaurant forum to see if somebody can tell you if three hours is average for CG. I've never eaten there. We are however going to be staying at Port Orleans Riverside for the first time in a couple days so I'll let you know how the resort is. We aren't requesting a room with a murphy bed but we are requesting a renovated room. Do they automatically come with the new rooms?

Maybe one of the kids will get the cake then I can try it

They only come in the rooms that had the trundle beds before.

Have fun, can't wait to hear about it. Feel free to post some pics here when you get back

I just booked for February but I am staying at a value as I will be in MK for 24 hours so plan not to spend much time in the room

Hi Natalie

I tried like 3 times to post a reply last night via my iPad but it kept crashing...so let's see if it will work this time and can remember my thoughts...

Breakfast we ate at 1900 PF in Nov2010 and just loved it the characters will wonderful and it's such a beautiful place to be in

I love all your lunch/dinner choices and wanted to make sure you remember the dinner shows and CG count for two dinning credits each

I think for TS restaurants they are pretty strict on the. Hild vs adult menu but at a sig restaurant they should be able to adjust a menu item to order

We ate at the HDDR also during that Nov trip and had a blast it was so fun and everyone really enjoyed the food too. The show was so funny we loved it and will want to do it again...

I'd choose cat 1 or cat 3 for the best seats we did cat 2 and kind of got stuck in a corner
Speaking of sangria I got a glass and my then 4 yr old Naomi-Ruth took a huge sip of that yummy looking fruit juice w/out me knowing of course and spit it all over the table whoops ;)

I have pictures and more in my Nov TR link below just check the table of contents posts

I love your arrival day and having a non park day and check out the resort I always think that is a good idea :thumbsup2

Hey!

I love starting the trip with a resort day, I find it less rushed and more relaxing.

I am going next month for the 24 hour day and we are doing nothing on the 28th, maybe just DTD for dinner

I chose a lot of 2TS restaurants on purpose because we are doing deluxe dining and I know we would not be able to handle 3 sit down meals a day so this way we get to try a lot of great places

Off to check out your other TR... how many of yours can I read at once?

How did I miss an update?! I was reading up on the whole 'adult' child ordering off a child's menu and seems the consensus is there is no issue with it. Especially because you paid for a more expensive option and are ordering a less expensive one.

Hopefully I will be able to get our PTR started this weekend.

I don't think she will have too much of a problem *fingers crossed*

Can't wait till you start yours!!!

So some of you may have heard that I am going to MK for the 24 hour day!!! It is a birthday present to myself. I will be traveling with my friend Tracy (not Mickey_Mom) and her daughter Sam. We are flying in on the 28th of Feb and are staying at All Star Music

We will probably hang at the resort and maybe venture to DTD to do some shopping on our 1st day as we are only going to have a one day ticket.

We will go to bed early and head to MK probably around 5am (opens at 6am)

I haven't heard if they will have buses running that early but I'm really considering taking a taxi to CR and walking across to avoid the bus crowds

I have and ADR for Breakfast at CP and one for dinner at the Plaza

So far the plan is to hit everything once then go back and do our favs. So where is a good place to take a power nap at MK????

That's awesome you are the first person I have heard of that is going to do that...can't wait to hear all about! I love your idea of taxing and walking over...I also like the nap ideas listed above...a ride on the riverboat could work too :thumbsup2

Yay on treating yourself to MK for the 24 hour day!! It sounds like it is going to be a day to remember!

I have to agree with people mover being the perfect place for a nap.

People mover and carousel of progress. :thumbsup2

Thanks :thumbsup2

Maybe Hall of Presidents :rolleyes1

It will be a day to remember!!!!

 It didn't fly with my DH unfortunately. He insisted I keep my travel credit for our Sept/Oct family trip.

 Still room if you change your mind :rotfl:

So I have been seriously neglecting this PTR. I haven't really done a lot of planning for the Oct trip yet so maybe I will give you more details on my Leap Day trip

I got one of these made (Thanks to PoppyGirl) and am planning to make a T-shirt for me and one for Tracy (Sam may be too cool but I will try to talk her into it)

Mickey_Names-1.jpg

I am also trying to talk them into getting Tiaras :rotfl:

We will be heading to Buffalo on the 27th in the evening and staying in a hotel that will be holding our car for us while we are gone.

We will be up bright and early cause our flight leaves at 6am :scared1:
now I am normally not a 6am flight kind of person but I figured since we had to be at MK the next day at 6am we might as well start the trip that way too.

We will land at MCO around 8:45am. Now I don't know if we are going to collect the luggage ourselves or let it be delivered to the room. If we will need to change into shorts then I think we will need our suitcases but if it will be cool then we can wear our jeans and probably let Disney get it. Must remember to check the weather forecast before we check the bags

Then we will hop on the ME bus and head for All Star Music. Should be there by 10am. I have requested the country section since all of us are country fans and I don't think it should be a problem since it is the farthest building.

I want to have my picture taken here

I figure we will check in and go check out our room, then we are going to head to Downtown Disney to do some shopping. Tracy and Sam have never been here so I wanna make sure we check out the Lego store and have plenty of time to wander around World of Disney

I'm sure we will find some cool souvenirs for the family. I will be getting the Monorail for Emma and Eryka wants something Rapunzel related. I also need to get some antenna toppers cause a friend of mine made these cool holders for them for me

I also have a red one but it's not done yet

After we have finished our shopping we are headed out to 1900 Park Fare for dinner. They have not been here and I think it is a great dinner!

After dinner we will head back to the resort and to bed as we will have an early start
