My family and I are traveling to WDW at the end of April 2005 (husband and I and three children...ages 13 to 20). Have a question....if you were to pick 3 restaurants that you wanted to make sure not to miss, what would they be? We are up for almost anything and do have a few favourites of our own but would like to try some that we haven't tried yet. Thanks for your input.

Our 3 favorite restaurants are:
Kona Cafe (breakfast)
Chefs de France (lunch)
Yacht Club Galley (dinner)

Boma is a favorite of ours so that would be one.
When we are at AKL I love Flame Tree- best counter service in WDW :cool1:
And I also think YC Galley is right up there.

jiko at AKL; artist point at WL; olivia's at OKW or whispering canyon cafe at WL either for breakfast. :earboy2:

My current favorites (lunch and/or dinner only) would be: Ohana, Boma, and Cape May Cafe (great dinner buffet).

The Coral Reef is a must. Lunch is the better. It's the same menu as dinner, but smaller portions and $$$.

Chef Mickey's has an excellent buffet. The atmosphere is great, if you don't mind the noise. It makes it more fun, in my opinion.

We are looking forward to going to Jiko this year. Didn't get a chance to go last year. Have been hearing lots of great things.

Have fun!

WE CAN'T WAIT!!!

1. Boma
2. Kona Cafe (breakfast)
3. Trail's End Buffet at Fort Wilderness

This is a difficult question for me to answer. If I had only been in the restaurants once, this would be easy. As an example, we fell in LOVE with Portabello Yacht Club after our first visit. Our experience was a lovely corner table right by a window - a quiet romantic evening with with candlelight and spectacular food. A totally wonderful experience. One year later went back - we were seated near the entrance to the kitchen. Lots of kids and noise, ho hum food and rushed service. Same restaurant - two completely different experiences.
However, we still like Brown Derby as our favorite sit down, and Boma's as our favorite buffet.

Our 3 not to be missed are:
50's prime time (dinner) fried chicken--YUM!
Yakatori-Japan (dinner)
Lotus Blossom Cafe (lunch) counter service
okay.....5
chef mickeys for the first night(tradition)
Beaches and Cream for a kitchen sink (tradition)

F.Y.I
we have 3 kids ages 5,6,8 who love all of these choices as much as DH and I do!

Boma
LTT for lunch
Teppanyaki

Next time we go we will have a 19,17, 15 and 13 year old (plus a couple of little ones) and they would all agree on the above.

Le Cellier---bread sticks, cheese soup and steak, YUM!!!

Artist Point---salmon or steak, BERRY COBBLER!!!

Grand Floridian Cafe---One of Disneys little secrets, delicious food, we've had anything from burgers to an absolutely delicious salmon. The Chocolate Fondue dessert is AWESOME!!! A chocolate gnache, with strawberries, bananas, pineapple, marshmallows, and one other thing??? for dipping. YUM!!!

Also, have discovered Olivia's last time. Did breakfast there and anxious to try dinner next time.

My three favorite:

1) Liberty Tree Tavern dinner: Disney dinner bliss for me! Excellent character interaction and the food is amazing...especially the stuffing which i literally crave all year round!

2) Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe: I really like the food there (i enjoy burgers and fries in general and really like them from Cosmic Ray's) and being there listening to Sonny Eclipse proves to me I'm in Disney :)

3) Garden Grille Restaurant: It revolves around "The Land" ride and thats quite cool. The character interaction there was some of the best I ever experienced: restaurant and anywhere. The food is excellent as well with a lot of variety. Very strong theming in that whole area and I had two very enjoyable meals there last year.

Honorable past mentions go to three old restaurants: Pasta Piazza in Futureworld in Epcot, the now defunct Sunshine Season Food Fair in the Land in Epcot, and the Adventureland Veranda sponsored by Kikkoman in Magic Kingdom. I miss all three very much.

So far, our favorites are:
Tempura Kiku, Japan, Epcot
Artist Point, Wilderness Lodge
Tie between Spoodles, Boardwalk & Le Cellier, Canada, Epcot

We're trying some new ones this trip, so this is subject to change.

Hi,

1. Boma, Boatwrights POR, WCC WL for Breakfast
2. GF for Garden View Tea or Beaches & Cream for snack Yum!!
3. 50's Prime Time MGM, Chef's De France Epcot, Boma & Artist Point WL for dinner.

My point, you can never have just one fave. Enjoy!!

Allison
