So I am the mom of one lovely:lovestruc but very Aspergers/PTSD teenaged daughter:scared1: who has had a rough last year! Meaning I have had a rough last year:surfweb: (we use a virtually schooling program which means I am also her full time teacher:teacher:). And my boys have had a rough year (her brothers are also schooled at home, and are competitive athletes who must keep up with their studies):cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:.........
So when my darling hubby:lovestruc asked me what I wanted for my upcoming birthday (no need to ask what the number of birthday was), I said "a break for the boys and me." He knew WHERE:wizard: I'd want that break (where else?).
So the boys (indie age 14 and lil indie age 11) and I took off on Friday. It was a 3 day trip and we had lots of fun. pirate:pirate:pirate: More on this later, but I thought I'd at least start:upsidedow.

On Friday, it was snowing lightly in Northern NV. We rose in at o'dark thirty and got ourselves to the airport........ I had actually suggested that I needed to be there between 4:30 and 5 for a 6:25 flight, but flight experienced hubby said No 5:30 would be fine........WRONG! We had trouble at check in (my 14 year old has a name similar to a grown up on a watch list and had to be scrutinized by a TSA supervisor before they would give us his boarding pass). We wound up running to security and running to gate at the "final boarding call." We were welcomed at gate with "are you the Hansens?" Yes. We are.
My nut allergic child was pleased to hear that our airline does not mess around with handing nuts to people (pretzels only).
We landed in LAX at 8am.
Took a shuttle van to Disneyland hotel. We were happy to hear they had a room ready! (low season).
We settled our things into our room and headed for the park, through downtown Disney.
It was a drizzly gray day. We actually like that, as the crowds were very low. My boys call that a "private rainy day party." We got to ride most rides by walking right on with no wait at all, and those that had a wait were 15 minutes or less (mostly less). We concentrated on indoor rides on Friday. Indiana Jones was my guys hands down favorite this trip. They both got Indie hats in Adventureland and later I will attach a photo of that.

:bday:

Great start-can't wait to read more.

You lucked out because you really missed the rain last week. It was soaking wet everywhere, and cold. Brrrrr!
