Hoping that the 3rd time is a charm here!

We booked a cruise for our 10 yr wedding anniversary spring of 2020 out of Vancouver- that was a no go obviously.

This past April we flew to San Diego from the east coast with the kids for attempt #2 and my son tested positive for Covid departure morning.

Thursday we are supposed to depart on the Dream out of Miami for one last try. Haha

All that to say I have done ZERO research on this ship, or the ports, or anything this time around because I cannot bring myself to get excited and have some sort of issue.

So super last minute but any recommendations for a first time cruise on the Dream as far as must dos, must sees, must eats?

Any port adventures worth time time off the ship in the Bahamas.

It will be my husband, myself and 2 kids who are 3 and 6.

We cancelled one trip due to covid. I’m sorry that you went through this. If we both had not contracted Covid for a 90 day exception I’d think I’d be a real mess right now, leaving in 7 days! We are first timers too- Wonder to Alaska, I’m keeping good thoughts for your family trip!

Ride the AquaDuck with your 6 year old, if they like water slides.

Have a drink at the Meridian Bar (you don’t need to have a Palo or Remy reservation) and sit on deck.

Chase fish in the water on Castaway. Children always believe they can catch them for some reason. 🤣

Eat a Grand Mariner soufflé with a crème brûlée the night they are both offered.

I’m excited for you! I’d love to do an Alaskan cruise but since we’ve never been in a cruise ever we thought we should try a shorter itinerary first!

Awww... my fingers are crossed for you! Vacation (cruising) should not be that hard or nerve wrecking.

First off, best of luck with this trip and ENJOY it! You deserve it!

I would stay on the ship at Nassau but I've been there before. Also, if you get some adult time be sure to visit Satellite Falls and just relax. :goodvibes

The Dream is a great ship (we were just on her in May). Just eat, drink, and be merry because OH BOY you deserve it.

Have a great time! With kids that age I would stay on the ship except for Castaway Cay. Be sure to enjoy the Midship Detective Agency and miniature golf. and get some ice cream together at Vanellope's.
I think we will stay on the ship in Nassau, thanks for the tip. I was saying to my husband with all it’s taking to get on it, I don’t really want to get off it haha.

I have never heard of the Midship Detective Agency but it sounds 💯 up my daughter’s alley.

I can soo totally relate, it was super hard for me to be excited after all of our reschedules. The good news for us was, we finally went last month and had a fantastic time. Whatever you decide to do, try to take a second, breathe and take it all in. It all went by so fast that it was a big blur. I am also a little sad after the fact because when we go to Disney I always write out a daily review so we can forever remember what we did what day. For some reason it never even occurred to me to do that for the cruise and now the family and I are struggling to remember (I mean sometimes it is fun to fill in the pieces but ideally I wish I had kept notes). Not sure if that is a thing for you but after all of the struggles to get there it might be something to think about? Wishing you safe and happy travels!

It's fun. You get these detective cards and go around to the ship's enchanted artwork, which will come to life and help you solve a mystery. There are three separate versions of the game you can play.

Since you are celebrating your anniversary definitely get reservations for that adult restaurants for a little alone time together with amazing food.
