3 days- park hopper or no!?

A RESOUNDING cry in favor of getting a park-hopper!!! You won't regret it if you get one, but you WILL regret it if you don't! There is tons to do in DCA with kids your age, and it's nice to have the option of bouncing back and forth between the two parks instead of being stuck in one if you don't get the hopper option.

Definitely get the park hopper! We are taking our 8 and 2 year old in October (2 year olds first time) and there is definitely a lot to do in DCA! Like the Playhouse Disney show, etc... Have fun!

WITHOUT A DOUBT!...only time one park ticket would ever make sense is if you just have one day to spend at DL!

With 3 days and park hopper you could do almost everything if you plan well (and reading posts here will help you a lot). Go for park hopper and enjoy your visit!

With a 3-day park hopper, you also get one Magic Morning to be in DL one hour earlier than the official opening time on Tu, Th, Sa or Su. You are able to get more done within the hour. If DL opens at 9 am in Feb, it is not too bad to get up for 8 am entry. Go on Peter Pan and Dumbo first thing in the morning. Their lines get long later on.

Have fun planning!

Park hoppers for sure!! We are going for a 3 day visit with DBF's family, they are saying they don't want to get hoppers but we are trying to convince them otherwise, hopefully we are successful! Park hoppers are definitely the way to go for DLR!

We do not park hop when we visit WDW, however DL is a different story. The parks are so close it's almost like they are one in the same. In my opinion park hoppers are a MUST at Disneyland!

I guess this depends on what you want to accomplish in that one day.

For 3 days I think a hopper is mandatory just so you have the flexibility to go wherever you want. If you were going 5 days (or more, if possible) then I could see one park per day tickets working out, but even then I'd probably spring for the hoppers anyway.

Personally, I'd do the park hopper. While they are considered two separate parks, realistically, they are a matter of feet away from each other, and I tend to think of them as one complete park, instead of 2 separate parks. I just feel like I'm missing something if I don't do both parks each day!

Yes! Get the Park Hoppers! It is worth it for the Magic Morning entry alone. On our last trip we were able to do almost everything in Fantasyland during our MM, which made it totally worth while. I do hate standing in line for those!

We usually treat DLR and DCA like one big park. We make a plan to start the day in one or the other (probably DCA most days on our next trip, so we can see Carsland) and then kind of play it by ear, since we usually go in the off season. Sounds like that's when you'll be there as well.

One tip I haven't seen anyone mention is that you can hold Fastpasses in both parks. So if you have a late return time on something in DCA, like RSR, you can hope over to DLR EVEN BEFORE YOUR WINDOW OPENS and get another FP. You can even send a runner over to the other park. So you could start the day in DLR, and have someone run over to get you WOC FPs after you have all "punched in" at least one park! It's great!
