3 days in Rome - what would you do?

If possible, try to go to the top of the dome of St. Peter's. The view of Rome is amazing from up there.

Otello's Alla Concordia has delicious cannelloni and roasted lamb (abbacchio). The restaurant is right by the Spanish Steps. My son was there last year, and said the food is still great.

Read some guide books.

I remember coming back from Rome the first time we were there and reading an article about the 10 sites not to miss in Rome--well we missed 7 of them!

After that, we always did our homework before we went anywhere.

Trevi Fountain
Vatican
Colisseum
Spanish Steps
and SHOP the Via Veneto! Bliss...........

In Rome, I would book a tour for the Vatican. The lines can get to be INSANE, especially in the summer, and if you book a tour you can bypass the lines. I've used Angel Tours twice and loved them.

You can now buy your indiviudal tickets online up to 60 days in advance instead of waiting in line. :cool1:

I use Road to Italy (.com) to plan all of my travel in Italy. From setting up any type of tour you would like, to guides, arrival and departure staff, hotel and train reservations--they are a full service travel group that specializes in trip to Italy. They are fantastic, and infact they are doing our August trip. They use some wonderful hotels, and always have top notch suggestions.
