So we have 3 full days in Orlando the beginning of December with my 8 and 9 year old.
We are staying at the Lowes Portofino as our original plan was to do 2 days at Universal Studios....
but now we are getting ambitious....

We are thinking of doing this as our potential itinerary:

Saturday
AM: check into hotel and drive to Disney
PM: Magic Kindgom is open until midnight.... so do Hollywood Studios for a few hours in the afternoon and then Magic Kingdom at night time.

Sunday
All Day: Universal Studios
PM: Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Monday
Universal Studios all day.

Is this tooooooo crazy? Or doable?

Anything you would change?

Don't you have front-of-the-line for Universal? Are you only doing US and not IOA? For me, knowing how nice FOL is and how nice both parks are, I'd stay in Universal if you're only doing 3 days. Grinchmas and the Macy's Holiday Parade are very fun and no extra cost...

We di gave FOL since we are staying onsite and were planning on doing US Sunday and IOA Monday or vice versa.
We originally only intended on doing the Universal Parks, but the boys wanted to pin trade, so we thought we would go Saturday to MK, and then we saw that there is the Mickey's Xmas Party and didn't want to miss that.

How good are your kids at being able to get up early after being out late at night? IIRC, USO doesn't have very late park hours so you probably could pop over to MK for the Christmas party but they may not want to get up early the next day. If USO parks close at 6 or 7 pm, you might not really get a full day in there. Also MVMCP requires a dated ticket purchase. What will you do if your kids are tired after a day at USO? It's not like a regular unused ticket that you could save for later.
Will they be able to sleep in on the last day before going home? or have a day to sleep late after returning home but before returning to school?
We have crammed a lot into a short time but we like to have 1 day to recuperate at home before returning to our usual grind.

I'd stick to universal. You can easily find enough to fill three days. If they want to do Disney pin trading, then you could do a shorter park day and go to Disney Springs for pin trading. That will save you money and not push them so much. Also, note that though you have express, some rides don't need take express - like Gringotts and Forbidden Journey. Using the early extra hour will help quite a bit with that - but you're going to have to be able to get up early to use it.

If the parks close early and you want a special thing, then I'd do Blue Man Group. My kids loved it and you'll be right there.

Also, where's the pool time? They don't need a full pool day but a lot of kids want a squeeze in a little pool time. That would also be a good evening activity.
