Just back from a 3 day on wonder. Stayed in an inside cabin on deck 7 - as far aft as we could be - so close to the "secret" deck. Always had it to ourselves.
Had dinner twice at palo's which was terrific - the chef prepared us special dishes from Argentine (his homeland) the second night.
The secret deck on 7 is a good place to enjoy the fireworks if you don't like the loud music of the Pirate Party (as was the case with my daughter (4) and me).
Shows were great as always.
I read that Hercules is leaving the Magic - but staying on the Wonder - but they need to do a bit of re-writing - as the joke about Michael Esiner's niece is now a bit dated. (But I still love the "bolshoi" joke).

We didn't mind the inside cabin at all (at least for a 3 day). Suspect we might try it again on a longer cruise. Would probably never pay jsut for a window - and would still enjoy a veranda if a longer cruise. Had plenty of room for clothes in the cabin (we like to unpack everything) (and this would have been the case even if we had clothes for a 7 day- and we don't pack lightly - and knowing we wanted to go to Palo's had extra "dress up" clothes for those nights). We'd been on a Magic 7 day last summer and our daughter had a chance at all the resaurants then and we offered the same on this trip but she preferred to eat with the kids or get a snack from the burger/pizza spots).

Can't say enough kind things about the kids' club - wonderful activities and care for the kids.
Our daughter, almost 5, might well have ebjoyed some of the 5-7 age group stuff - and we were told that once she turned 4 that if we wanted, we could put her in the older age group - I thought she had to be within a month of her birthday (she was within two months). Not a real issue on a short cruise but on a longer cruise I think we would have liked her to try out the 5-7 group.

They do pack a lot into the 3 day cruise. Nassau did nothing for me (but I am sure there are lovely beaches but we have our own preference in beach islands and go to those every other summer so that's not a priority - did my own walking tour of the downtown which was fun and easy - a neat women's clothing store called "Little Argentina" on Bay Street towards the Straw Market has very unusual, one of a kind clothing that is not too expensive - now it's not caribbean but their only other locatino is in Argentina - we'll see how the "painted blouses" hold up - as the blouses are painted each one is unique - so I am told). Of course, did the requisite t-shirt souvenir shopping in Nassau - wife and daughter stayed on the boat. Castaway Cay lovely - hard to pick out the hurricane damage. Family beach is very very crowded and not my idea of a beach day - the adult beach is just fine. (They even had smal lobster tails at the buffet/grill at the adult beach - very nice!) (sort of had to ask if there were any "specials")

Disney is still tops it seems in getting people on and off in quick time (in my experience of "large cruise" ships). Orlando airport on the Sunday after Easter week is a VERY busy place (1.5 hours to check bags with sky cap and then go through security - I know the people inside at the Southwest line were waiting at least that long just to check in - so it was well worth the tip to the skycap).

I am gald to hear you had a "Wonderful" time... :cool1:

It is getting hard for me...All the waiting..I am living vicariously through everyone else's accounts.... :earsboy:

fcrouch - thanks for the details of your trip. My DH, DD and I are doing the 3-day Wonder cruise in October and we're also staying in one of the inside staterooms on deck 7 aft to be close to the "secret" deck. I love the idea of watching the fireworks from the deck!! :Pinkbounc

Hi All,
We are on deck 7 for our upcoming 4 night Wonder(first time with a verandah) . What is this secret deck you are talking about? The other time we cruised we were on deck 2.
Any info would be appreciated.
Beth

Beth - The "secret" deck is at the very back of deck 7 and apparently people don't generally know about it. If you do an internet search for castaway club you'll find the website that has pictures of it (click on "DCL secrets").

fcrouch, we have stayed in cat. 11 deck 7 aft. (7127) 3 times. The last one was on the Magic in June. It worked just fine on the longer one. I agree about the extra money. DH doesn't even believe we should go to cat. 10 and it is only a little bit more!!!

Hint: You must go through a door to find the secret deck. Not that it is hidden, it is just that most people don't realize there is something behind that door.
