3 day getaway...I'm going to Disney World! COMPLETED!

Meet the cast:

Cheryl: I'm 20 years old and you can say that I'm crazy for anything Disney. Movies, music, Disney travel you name it I love it! I love photography so there will be tons of pics with this report!! I'm always on the look out for cheap flights down to Orlando..hense how this trip came about. My favorite characters would be tinkerbell, stitch, Lilo, Belle, and of course Mickey! Basicly I love em' all!

The best friend (B): Shes also 20 and recently moved down to FL with her boyfriend. She loves all Disney movies and we always planned to go down to Disney world but we could never make it happen. She hasnt been since she was 6 so she is wicked excited! Her favorite characters would be any of the princess'. She wont be afraid to admit that she has a princess poster hanging in her room. haha

The boy friend (K): He's also 20 not really into Disney but he will go to make B happy. He has no favorite characters that I know of but we will see...

So Like I said B and K just moved down to FL about a month ago and B's kind of having a rough time. A whole new place, new job, no friends down there etc. I told her if there was ever a cheap flight I would come down and visit for a few days.

Fast forward to Thursday June 14

DING! What could it be...a $49 dollar ding fare to Orlando!! It's my lucky day!! Wow! So I went ahead and booked for July 17-19...3 short days but it will be 3 good days at Disney world hanging out. Ok so my trip serves two purposes...seeing my best friend and cheering her up and getting my Disney fix...does that make me a bad person ? What could be better seeing my Best friend AND Disney world!

Ok so since they just moved in to their place things are kind of hectic so I decided that it would be best just to say on site and use magical express since B can't take too much time off her new job to pick me up at the air port (which is over an hr from where they are). I decided to stay a Pop century since I've been there before and just love it!!!

When I called to make my room reservation I was kind of nervous for a last minute room during peak season but it must of been my lucky day. I have a room at Pop with the AAA discount for 2 nights!! Everything is all set Plane, room and magical express. Now all thats left is planning!! only 30 more days!!!!

Wow, you really did a great job with last minute preparations. I wish I lived closer to an airport that uses Southwest. My closest in Midway in Chicago, yuck.

Alright So I just got off the phone with B and turns out they will be only able to go to Disney on the 18th due to their new jobs. There going to get a one day pass so I told them they could pick which park they wanted to go to and B instantly said Magic Kingdom! haha I should of guessed. When you think of Disney world what do you think of?...Magic Kingdom of course! It will be open from 9-11pm so we will have tons of time to walk around, shop, and ride. Maybe we will even hit up downtown Disney since they have never been there before.

Im so exicted Ive even started packing....

my dis lime green crocs and my Disney crocs are all packed away in my suit case. Obviously I won't be wearing one of each but I just couldnt decide which ones to bring so I'm bringing both pairs.

Even though I'll be there a short time I will still be on the look out for other disers! I'll have a Lime green mickey on my backpack with my dis name so if you see me say hi! Next up I'll have to venture to my local Home Depot for Lime green mickeys!

I know, I was really lucky that everything fell into place the way it did. I live about 20 minutes from the main airport here in NH so it isnt bad at all!

I got my conformation from Disney today

It's official. I can't for the 3 of us to walk down main street at the magic kingdom. Since K has never been there before and B was too little to remember. I'm hoping K will enjoy the magic that Disney has to offer. We will just have to see if B and I can turn him into a Disney lover!

Wow its already Thursday... time is just flying by. Lets look at the countdown...

only 26 more days! It will be time to leave before I know it.

So when I was looking through the mail today I wasnt expecting anything. Junk, bill, junk, bank statement, magical express, junk...woah wait a minute go back....MAGICAL EXPRESS! Woohoo My tags have arrived....

This is the shortest time from booking to trip that I have ever had. I feel like I'm very unpreparied since I'm quite the planner. This weekend may involve some planning for the days I will be by myself. I'm interested in doing one of those passports at Epcot since it will be EMH on my first night. But I have time to plan.

So up next...venture to Home depot for LGMH and planning and packing!

22 days left!! Wow how time is flying. Can you believe next week is July 4th?! Wow. Let me first start by saying I can count. haha I was looking at at my countdown calendar today and noticed there isnt the number 20! I must of been so excited typing it up I totally missed it! Oops!

Anyway guess what I did today....I'll give you a hint....

Yup I went to Home Depot! I always feel so bad going in there not to buy anything but to take mickey paint chips. So I recruted my 12 year old brother to go with me. We pretend that were picking out colors for his room when in reality were taking every color paint chip we can get our hands on. Bad I know...I'm such a bad influence. But I swear I'm a really good big sister! Anyway we grabbed as many as we could without looking too suspicious and out the door we went. I need to go back though because I want enough to make Dis tags and decorate my door and window like Goofybaby (Carol) did!

I've also been doing a little planning. Lets just say I'm quite the plan-aholic. You have to be when your going to Disney World in the middle of July.

The one thing I love about going to Disney World in the summer is that the parks are open late into the night and early morning. Theres something even more magical at night when the lights are all on and the music is playing. I dont know maybe it's just me but thats my favorite time.

Ok so anyway heres a rough plan of what I'm thinking...

Now this plan will probably change about 4 or 5 more times in the next 22 days. But like I said you need to have a rough plan of what you will be doing. Even though I will be there for 3 days I'm going to try to do everything I possibly can! Even if that means very little sleep...who ever said you needed to sleep at Disney World...what do you think this is a vacation?! Just kidding.

So whats next you ask...another trip to Home Depot, Packing and planning! Stay tuned!

Yea thats the only bad thing is how short the trip is. The hotel is just so expensive during the summer even with the AAA discount at a value resort. It wouldnt be so bad if I had someone to split that cost with, but B and K can't come for more than a day. Oh well a short trip is better than no trip. Thanks for reading!!

You must have a lot of dis'ers in your town for all the LG to be gone! Or else there are a lot of Alien green (lime green) rooms out there! What a cute idea to use them for a countdown chart!
