Sailing on Dream 3/17/11 Is the pirate night something families dress up like pirates for? We happened to be pirates last Halloween and was wondering if we should bring our costumes?

My kids are both really into pirates so we will be pulling together some costume ideas for sure. I saw bring the costumes! Have fun with it :)

This was us on the Magic in January! Clearly we LOVE pirate night! :) And, since they are Halloween costumes, they pack relatively small...I put each person's into a gallon ziplock and squeeze all the air out. That way, all the little pieces are in the bag, and its smaller to pack.

We are bringing ours again on our 4 day. There are some people that go totally pirate or others that go moderate pirate:thumbsup2 Some don't dress up at all. Whatever you decide you still can have a great time. One of our cruises my DH opted to get a pirate shirt on Nassau. We purchased him a new pirate costume this past Halloween on clearance at Kmart. (I still have yet to get mine. For some reason the womens outfits are crazy expensive.) I wore a black shirt, a pirate necklace, and bandana and didn't feel out of place. They do sell some pirate gear on board but it's really pricey.
Our costumes will also be doing double duty at MNSSHP.

I think it seems fun to do, & wish that more people did. We only sailed on the Wonder twice, but there were only a handful of people dressed up each time.

My DD wore a custom-made minnie pirate dress, and really stood out. DH & I went with the Caribbean theme instead of pirates and just looked ordinary. I was glad I didn't have pirate gear on, as I feel i would have stuck out too much. If everyone was doing it that would be more fun.

We were on the 3 night last Oct. and not many people dressed up for pirate night.. dh and I had pirate t-shirts and hats etc..the children we were with wore costumes and the other couple had a full "get up"..that said, we were definately the minority.. we didn't care, it was fun...

We'll be going in July, and I was wondering about the pirate night and dressing up. Nice to know it's kind of a "some do, some don't" thing, so we can pull together a few things before we leave for the kids and know they'll have fun. Thanks for the info!
