DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Good to see the thread is still alive and kicking. I thought most of the action moved over to Facebook, and it still might be. No matter, since I am not on Facebook, lol!

Cheers, Gents!
Still here, but action is…
Imagine a little old lady with arthritis.

Not quite that energetic.

Ha!
My daughter was probably 7 when I joined the DisDads … and now she’s starting her senior year of college!
I’m gonna suspect that our numbers include several empty-nesters now!

I’d guess you weren’t wrong.
BUT … she still wiggles her way into most, if not all, of our WDW trips!!
The effrontery!

Evening All...
Have been traveling the last week or I'd have chimed in before now.
We were down on the SC Shore for a bit. It was hotter then blazes, but if you're flopped in in a beach-chair, under an umbrella, with a bit of a breeze and an extremely large drink in your hand, it can be quite tolerable.

It did put a bit of a crimp in my efforts toward physical activity, but I'll get back to that now that we home again.

Depending on the blaze I presume.
But using a campfire as a starting point… it was hotter than 1,100F.

1,100F… thus the “extremely” large drink.

Hope you guys are doing well! It's been busy here. I just spent a few days at a work conference, just got back home yesterday. Now I'm sorting through emails and trying to clear my desk just in time to go out on vacation next week. I've gotten through the five stages of grief about the cost of WDW and am now looking forward to the trip. Hopefully the heat and crowds won't be too terrible.

Cheers to your health and a happy Friday! Gonna cap off the night with the Retro WDW movie night from last night . . . anybody ever check those out - basically watching vintage home movies with running commentary.

denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance
Denial: "There's no way it's that much!"
Anger: "How the heck can you justify it being that much?!?!?"
Bargaining: "Look. I'm bringing the equivalent of a baseball team. Surely you can cut me a deal?"
Depression: "I will never recover from this financially."
Acceptance: "I will never recover from this financially... heck with it."
Hopefully the heat and crowds won't be too terrible.
Heat? In Florida? Crowds? In Disney?

Nahhhh...

Where is that? On Disney+?
I did recently watch The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes. Blast from the past. Fun.

Wow! It's like you were right in the room with me!

Don't destroy my dreams before the trip even begins.

Have not seen that one. I guess it's worth watching?

hmmmm.... probably only if you watched it (or similar) when you were a kid?

Yep - that. If you have nostalgia for it, you might enjoy seeing it. I wouldn't recommend it for a first-timer (unless you are a completist.) There is a little easter egg in the Journey Into Imagination ride for the movie.

Of course not! I relied on the camera footage.

oops. Ignore that last comment.
I always got warnings about your phone or Amazon Echo or similar stuff spying on me, and I always had the same thought--man, whoever is listening in is going to be REALLY bored.

But.... what else is there to do? :confused3
Good question. We start driving tomorrow, so I for one plan to be VERY productive at work today. :thumbsup2

I do have a love for cheesy 80's movies. D.A.R.Y.L, Cloak & Dagger, The Final Countdown, Flight of the Navigator, etc.

You can say that again! :faint:

Oh… never mind. Heard it the first time.

Tomorrow!!
Have a great time!!

Then give it a shot. I think at the very least you’ll be mildly amused.
