Every time I've ridden this, I couldn't really enjoy it because it went so fast, I couldn't take in the cartoon or any dialog. I've been told it's because they speed up the ride due to crowds, however, there wasn't much of a crowd that I could tell (at least not for this ride). I'm wondering if others have experienced this and if it's more interesting if they slow it down? Is it slower during certain months?

I didn't think it was too fast. If the line is short, could you jump on it again to catch what you missed?

We did it last week and it was slow. Of course it was during EMH at night and no one else was really there

We've ridden a lot. It's the same speed all the time, not fast at all. Not super slow either. Plenty of time to see it all. I'd do as PP said, ride again. Outside a few awful crowd days each year it's got short lines

Not fast at all. You can usually here the music tracks loop while you're still within earshot.

There's not much to it, you're probably not missing anything.

I don't know why it was so fast when I rode. We've always went in June when it was busy so I just chalked it up to that. But definitely couldn't catch what was going on. Hopefully, this next trip will be like you all have experienced.

18 months ago we took the little girls on my street to WDW for a week long trip. We had the whole shebang, from character meals, castles, fireworks, etc.

Our last day there we returned to Epcot and they went on The Grand Fiesta Tour in Mexico. Several times. With me. Outside of the monorail, which they absolutely loved, this was their favorite attraction I have no idea why, but they loved it!

I think maybe you think there's more going on than there actually is. You're not missing anything, there just isn't anything to miss.
The original attraction was El Rio del Tiempo, which had nothing to do with any Disney characters and was just a nice boat ride through Mexico's history and culture. They added the Three Caballeros in 2007 (just looked it up), and to me, the original version was better. I find the characters distracting and unnecessary. So maybe you're picking up on the awkwardness of characters being infused into what was originally not a character ride?
I'll still ride it because I love the atmosphere in that pavilion and all, but the original attraction was much better, IMO.

This pretty much echoes my sentiments. I actually am a big fan of the 3C movie but there's just not a lot happening in this attraction. Jose & Panchito are basically looking for Donald and (minimal) hijinx ensue. The best thing about the attraction is the addition of the animatronics which were installed a year or two (?) ago.

After 5 visits we just did this ride this past visit and didn't find it much slower or faster than the other boat rides (POC for example)

Can't remember the last time we had any wait at all. FWIW we liked to old version better.

They have a queue set up in the outside courtyard of the Mexico pavilion and we used it this last trip. I couldn't believe it. Luckily, the line moved fast, since there is no FP+.
