3 Big Kids do Disney...but only for the DINING!!

That lobster looks delicious!! Can't wait to hear more reviews.popcorn::

BOMA Breakfast!!

We all loved it but didn't eat a single "normal" breafast food except fruit!!! I ate from
both carving stations...turkey and ham with a tomato chutney and a mustard respectively.

Scrambled eggs with chakalaka (really good tomato sauce!!), pap, grilled tomatos

And this was my favorite, the curried sausage with biscuit...skipped the biscuit part because the rest was so yummy!!

oh my goodness, that lobster has my mouth watering.
thank you for sharing, I look forward to more.

DINNER AT SPOODLES!!!

So, this review is sort of moot since this place will be closing but....

We were late by 10 mins for our ADR but were seated within 5 mins. We loved it! The temp inside was a bit on the warm side but it seemed to cool off the longer we sat.

We ordered mussels and 4 cheese flatbread for apps....flatbread a little soggy and if you could believe it, too cheesy, for my taste but the mussels were YUM YUM!!

We then shared 2 entrees...the Rigatoni and the Spinach Ravioli. Loved both!

The service here was very good and the food very good. Now, being italian and loving to cook my own, I very rarely eat pasta dishes outside of my own home. I didn't think the food was SPECTACULAR but very flavorful, fresh and good. Loved the shredded parm on the side too. I am not sure why Spoodles gets bad reviews...doesn't really matter though does it!! Oh, we also had bread with a relish spread that we all loved....

Gardenview Tea....I was beyond excited for this one. I was really really looking forward to this. Arrived on time for our ADR and were seated within minutes. The quaintest place with the friendliest service...I recommend everyone do this at least once. This is now my 2nd favorite Disney dining experience next to V&A.

DH and I both had the GRAND TEA and Brad had the Buckingham Palace.

My tea...the lemon verbena.

I will just put up the pics....the scone with devonshire cream was by far my favorites. I was also glad that I chose the trifle over the pastries....

The boys didn't care for the sandwiches....I saw someone order the cheese plate and I will definitely get that next time along with scones!!! Oh, yes, there will be a next time!!!

Wednesday...PARK DAY!!!

So, we started our day at DHS and had a 11:10 ADR at Sci Fi....we arrived at 11:15 and were seated within 5 minutes. The service after that was slow but not ridiculous...we ordered BIG alcoholic beverages that glowed!!! YUMMY!! We shared onion rings and the BLT soup....we like all of this, especially the onion rings. DH didn't care too much for the soup but Brad and I thought it was great!! We shared a burger...DH and I....but we didn't get a picture!!! DOH!!! The fries were just okay but the burger was GREAT!!! Better than Beaches and Cream IMHO but not quite as good as ESPN Club. Well, here are the pics of what we have!!

This is not a MUST DO for us but it was a fun experience sitting in the car and watching the old B movies...if I bring my nephew and nieces sometime I would definitely come here again.

Great pics! I soooo want to try try the Afternoon Tea at the GF, it looks so beautiful!! I am sad I have never got to try Spoodles, it will be closed by the time my trip comes up!

I totally agree with your assessment of the Sci-Fi burger, not quite as good as ESPN's!

We love Spoodles and those mussels are the best we've had at any WDW restaurant, including the signature restaurants!:thumbsup2

KONA CAFE!!!! Best Food, WORST service!!!

So, arrived 6:45 for a 6:55 ADR. Maybe 2 or 3 parties waiting. Empty tables in the restaurant. We finally get called at 7:30!!! We were told there were technical difficulties in the kitchen. Okay, we had a chance to have a Lapu Lapu and Godiva Chocolate Martini and a Strawberry Basil Lemonade!!! All VERY Yummy!!!

Well, we then waited MORE.....20 minutes for our waiter!! HOLY COW!!! No explanation. He was slow brining the food and disappeared after it came until the next course was due out....weird. It looked like he only had 3 tables too. Whatever. The food was GREAT. We shared the wings....a HUGE pile. Wonderful. My husband hasn't stopped talking about these...
P6030129.jpg

Great bread with macadamia nut butter too!!
P6030130.jpg

I had the Tuna Oscar. This was awesome. It tasted like perfectly cooked rare steak. Excellent.
P6030134.jpg

DH had the pomegranate pork chop....he liked it alot. It is hiding under some onion straws....
P6030133.jpg

Brad had the pan asian noodles...sorry no pic. He liked it....

None of us finished our entrees...they were huge and delish!!

Too bad this was a bad night for Jason, our server. I will try it again though. I am sure like anywhere....service is hit or miss.

A stop at Wolfgang Pucks!!!
This wasn't on the agenda but....one day we went to Disney Quest and popped out around 2:30pm....we stopped in for drinks and snacks. We ate at the bar. Service was FAST and friendly and it was a very nice place for an afternoon stop. It was DEAD in there!! I had the rainbow roll sushi, DH had the smoked salmon flatbread!! (loved it!!!) and Brad had the tortilla soup. He liked it alot too.....

Our experience at Kona was the same. The food was great but our waiter was slow and not efficient at all. However, the food was so good that we will be eating there again this vacation. Here's to better wait service.;)

Mmmmmm Chakalaka!

Hey, going back to Narcoosee's, what was the accompaniment with the cheese on the left on the cheese plate? It looks like diced tomatoes, but surely that's not what it is...

Those sandwiches from the Tea look great! I know the boys didn't care for them. Was it because they weren't prepared well? Or they just didn't like what was in them?

Rainbow sushi on Gay Days! Gotta love it! :rotfl2:

Hmmm...that accompaniment was some sort of fruit chutney thingy....I know, alot of help. Maybe peach?? Honestly, can't recall....

Tea sandwiches...they just didn't like the fillings. DH liked the egg salad but that was pretty much it...I liked all of them but I could have done without the pear and gorgonzola one which is odd because I thought I would really like that one seeing how I like gorgonzola.

How available was the patio viewing area? I was wondering if those sitting inside at window tables got upset with others standing outside and blocking their view. You thoughts? We have 8:45 ressies on 9/3 (Wishes at 10:00). Thanks!

I can answer that-it is very annoying to get a window seat and be all ready to watch Wishes and about 10 minutes before they start people start arrriving and sitting in the benches provided under the windows. This happened to us 2 years ago and the woman who sat in front of us had big hair too! :scared1: Anyway, we ended up going outside to watch anyway. We stood at the rail, in front of the family who had blocked our view :rotfl:.

Now back to the review-great job so far!

Sorry about your server at Kona. We've always had good, and when we ask for her by name, great service. Love  the Sticky Wings. So bummed they aren't part of Std. DDP. I can make a meal out of those things. ;)

And the Tuna Oscar is amazing! We ate there twice last trip and after tasting my DM's the first time I had to order it myself 2nd time. So Good! :yay:

The sushi at WPC looks good! We are thinking of trying it this trip since my DM is already mentioning "where can we get sushi on DDP?" Last year we ate at WPE for the first (and second) time and really enjoyed it.

Love the pictures-I too take a lot of pictures, it doesn't bother me what other people think and now my family has gotten used to it. Sometimes my DD9 will stage the photo holding up a napkin behind the plate. I even took some pix of our food recently at a local beach restaurant-just for the fun of it!
Can't wait to read more....

Great pictures and reviews!

Those nachos look :worship:

We are trying Boma for breakfast in August and cannot wait based on these stellar reviews!!
