I'm planning a Sept 2016 trip with my DH, DD1 + DD2 along with my parents and my DH parent's. 6 adults, 2 kids. Out of curiosity looking at Deluxe Villas to see if there was a situation that could work for us. The only way I'd be okay with booking one is if we could all have our own bedrooms - we need our space. My 4some in one with two beds, then the other two couples would each have a bedroom. Looking around I don't see any that really fill that need. Am I missing something?

Otherwise we'll go with our original plan of 3 separate hotel rooms, but connecting. Can you get 3 connecting rooms or only 2?

Thanks in advance!

A grand villa would work for you; however, they are rarely released to the Disney cash reservation system. You could look into renting one with someone's points. Saratoga Springs, Animal Kingdom or Old Key West would likely be the cheapest and most available options, but you can also get grand villas at Boardwalk, Bay Lake Tower and the Grand Floridian.

Sorry, I don't know much about the 3 Bedroom Grand Villas.

WDW resorts will only have 2 rooms connecting together. Please be aware that there is no way to book/guarantee connecting rooms, it is only a request. They will do everything they can to grant your request but be prepared they may not connect and it's possible your 3 rooms won't be near each other.

Yep. It is very rare Grand Villas are available via Disney Reservations. Because you are within 7 months booking, I don't think you'll have a lot of luck finding one for September, as September-December is DVC high season, and GVs do book up. If one is yet available, my guess it'd be at Saratoga Springs, but it would have to be done as a DVC rental -- which means cash up front, and the reservation is not changeable or refundable.

I am not a Disney World expert by any means, but we stayed in a 3 bedroom villa at Old Key West about 6 years ago. We are planning another trip with the same group (my parents, my family of 4 with 2 dd 16 and 11, and my sister and her husband) for November 2016. We originally made reservations at CR for 3 hotel rooms, but really wanted the 3 bedroom villa at OKW again. I have called every month since we made our reservation....and at 9 months out they finally became available! We switched our reservation are so excited. It is slightly more expensive than 3 rooms at CR was going to be, and I think OKW 3 bedroom villas are cheapest of all 3 bedroom villas, but it is worth it to us to have all of the extra space, living room, the full kitchen, laundry room, and patio. We have lots of memories on our last trip sitting in the living room at night talking about the events of the day, which wouldn't have happened for us in 3 separate hotel rooms. You will not find the 3 bedroom villas available on the website, but it's worth a call to resort reservations to see what's available. It is cheaper to rent points, but I don't have any experience with that. Over the past months calling reservations, they have given me quotes for Animal Kingdom and Saratoga Springs 3 bedroom villas so they are available. It seems that 11, 9, and 7 months out are key time periods to check at. I think DVC releases rooms at these points. Know also that the agents you speak on the phone will not know very much about the 3 bedroom villas. I've received a lot of conflicting info from them and they'll tell you to check for availability online, but the 3 bedroom vills don't ever show up online. You have to call. I hope you have a great trip and find the configuration that will work best for your family!!!

There are three bedroom villas that fill your need. OKW and SSS have three bedrooms and four bathrooms. One with a king. And two with two queens.
Each bedroom has its own private bathroom, and there is an additional bathroom near the kitchen-living area. But. They are likely all booked up by now.

OKW has two queens in the second bedroom, king in the master and two doubles in the third bedroom. The second and third bedrooms are upstairs. Most GVs at OKW start on the second floor, so the second floor of the GV is on the third floor of the building.

You could do a 2 bedroom and either a studio or a 1 bedroom villa unless you must all be in 1 room.
