My husband, my 2 1/2 year old daughter, my mom, and I will be vacationing in WDW in September. My daughter is too short (and too young) for most of the "thrill" rides. I know that child swap is available, but I have several questions about how it is used.

First, do all members of the party have to stand in the queue together? I am hoping I can take my daughter to play or maybe even on another ride while my husband and mom ride a 40"+ ride. If you don't have to stand in line together...who gets the child swap pass?

I'm also wondering, if we were to get FastPass+ for two of the adults for (let's say) Soarin'...is a third FastPass+ needed if we use the child swap option? Wouldn't the third adult (+1) be able to enter the FastPass+ line with only the child swap ticket? If I am way off base, PLEASE set me straight!!

I think I'm just confused overall as to the child swap process. Any help you can offer is much appreciated. We're just trying to get all of our (donald) ducks in a row before we have to make our FastPass+ selections in July.

THANKS!!

You and husband take baby to standby entrance and get child swap, then husband and mom go do ride. After ride, husband gives you child swap pass then you enter FP line either by yourself, with husband or with mom. Preferably not both as that would leave the child unattended.

If you are using FP+, only one person needs to have the FP. Lets say husband has FP+, you baby and husband go to FP+ line and same scenerio from above takes place.

Some people recently have been saying that some CMs are asking if both people have a FP+ when using FP+ and a childswap but I have not heard it from anyone that I know personally.

Thanks so much for the helpful information!! Maybe I better go ahead and get FastPass+ tickets for all riders...I hate not following the "rules." I just wasn't exactly sure what the rules were.

...And not to worry, my little one will always have one of us with her. We won't take the "child swap" label too literally. :rotfl2:

BY almost all accounts, everyone does not need a FP+ to use child swap so especially with epcot and hollywood studios where their is tiering, it can allow for FP+ for multiple tier 1 attractions.
