Not a full trip report as I've got a bit of a cold and can't concentrate for quite that long. This was our second DCL cruise, the first one being a Western 7-day in 2003.
Good:
Rasul Mud Bath - Wow, this was an incredible experience. We both had a wonderful time.
Rainforest room - I /want/ a mint fog shower in /my/ house. Right Now.
The Beef Tenderloin - Best. Meal. Ever.
Golden Mickeys - Fun show, and I got to see "Once Upon A Dream" performed which always makes me happy. And the girl who does Pocahontas has an /incredible/ voice.
Pub Night in Diversions - Much fun, though I'd adore the show being longer.
Service - Absolutely faultless this time. In particular, I had help from lots of people in making my husband's birthday spectacular.
Not so good:
The weather - No fault of Disney's of course, but it was definately a rockier trip than the Western was. Still, only rained one day. And not too hot.
Upkeep - Bussing of tables in the pool areas and topsiders was clearly lacking on this cruise, and my husband and I noticed that the surface of the Quiet Cove pool was in /dire/ need of a repainting.
Observations:
The elevators could really use a 'clear all' button at adult-only height. At least three times we got on the elevator (once while running a bit late for a show and me in high heels) to find /every single floor button lit/. Now, kids will be kids, but how nice and easy would it be to just hit one button and clear all the prank hits and go on your merry way?
What is it with the people who seem to think that smiling is a personal weakness? I could not believe the amount of petty *****ing that I heard coming from some of the other adults on the ship. Oh no! You have to take a taxi from the port! Horrors! Oh no! There's a fishy smell at low tide! Our vacation is ruined! Sheesh.
I'm a bad person. I probably should have felt sympathy for the family that nearly missed the boat, running onto the dock at St. Thomas as the Magic pulled away. But honestly, watching from Deck 7 aft, it was just the best darn floor show of the week. If they hadn't been over 45 minutes past the stated all aboard I'dve had more sympathy.
