I know my old magic bands work on my trips so I keep bringing back various colors to match my outfits.

My kids have misplaced their magic bands. I want the them to have charging abilities when we separate for a bit in the theme parks. If I give them my extra magic band, will two of my magic bands work in the park on the same day. So I'm wearing one my magic band and one my kids wear another magic band of mine.

What other options do I have to get them charging abilities w/o a magic band?

You can’t transfer one of your old MBs to anyone. They’re assigned to you. Perhaps giving them a gift card or if they have a phone they can use apple
Pay/google pay (although won’t charge back to the room). They can get a KTTW card to enter the parks and LLs

You can't really just reuse your old MBs, as @elvispursley just commented about.

The MBs will not work for anything other than charging back to your room with your PIN Code that you set. You would want to make sure that these additional MBs are verified at the resort Front desk to be linked to your reservation. They can't use them for park entry or LL entry but only for charging to your resort folio which is what you originally asked about.

Another slightly more complex step is to have Guest Services give them RF ID cards linked to their individual tickets. This will allow them to enter the parks on their own, use LL booking that include them, and for charging back to your room if you stop at the Front desk, and have the CM link the cards to your reservation.

Ugh I have so much to learn. I thought I read somewhere that it would work for LL

No, sorry for the confusion. The discussion with @LeeAnn is about using her extra bands for her children. Since they can't use her old MB for park entry they can't use her old MBs for LL entry either.

Your old MBs will work just fine for all the basis MB functions; park entry, LL tap points, anything that is passive, and only requires a tap of your MB.

Awesome thanks! I’m happy I didn’t remove them from my MDE after our last trip in 2021

Just a small clarification, you can't actually remove your old MBs from your MDE profile. You can only deactivate them or report them as lost, and then will Disney actually remove them from your MDE profile. If you deactivate your old MB, and then decide to reuse it you can just Activate your band again in your MDE profile.

How long will a magic band work? Do I need to replace a battery? My last one was purchased in 2022.

Also can my friend use her Disneyland magic band? Or are they specific to Disney World?

Normally on the origination MB, and the MB 2.0 the battery normally lasts about 2+ years. You can't replace the battery on either version. That's why Disney made the MB+ with a rechargeable battery.

Even with a dead battery or the drained battery on the MB+, a MB works for every touch point. The only function that is not available is access to long range RF communication for select attraction pictures or interactive guest interactions in the parks.

No a Disneyland MB will not work in the WDW MB system.

ETA: still learning to spell and type English words...

Again Thank you

Just want to update my old school magic bands from 2021 that were used only in 2021 all still work for purchase, photopass, LL, room key at WDW :)

I have MagicBands from 2018 and 2019 that still work for park tickets, resort room entry, Photopass and charging to the band. It doesn't capture ride photos. But if I set the WDW app on my cellphone to allow location tracking, I will get the ride photos.

Yes a MB+ will work at DL, WDW, and even on Disney Cruises but @provencio only mentioned a Disneyland MB.

Dave
The poster asked if their friend could use her DL MB and since the only ones sold and usable in DL are MB+ I thought that was what the poster was referring to.
