We are having really bad weather too. My DD and DH, who is a teacher would love a snow day too.

We are in the middle of a huge ice storm. We have today off from school and tomorrow too. It is pouring down rain and then freezing. We were with out power for 8 hours today. :coffee:

Oh, the no power sucks! What did y'all do while the power was out?

We are off tomorrow too. Well, my DH and DD will be anyway. I might work from home again tomorrow.

We only had four hours of power yesterday. The power went back off last night at 8 and came back on this afternoon at 2:00. I used the time to read, clean house, play Candyland, and watch my husband and daughter wrestle. The only problem with cleaning house is that the toys keep reappearing in the cleaned areas. Oh well! That is what a snow day is for...playing and having fun. :laundy:

L,
What does your husband teach? I teach English to speakers of other languages in a K-5 school. I have also taught, 5th grade, 3rd grade, and 7th grade social studies. :wave2:

Jen

Jen, My husband teaches at an alternative school for mostly bad kids all ages for secondary school. He seems to like it. I don't know how he can stand it. My husband's degree is in history. Since you have taught social studies, I'm sure you'll have lots to talk about.

Very cool that you teach English. English is hard to learn as a second languange. I'll bet your kids get frustrated but enjoy it.

The clean parts in my house get cluttered up pretty quickly with dolls and stuffed animals. Trying to get my DD to clean up after herself is like a drama in itself.

I hear you about the clean up drama! princess: We have an alternative learning center in our district too. I can't imagine the patience that job must take. My kiddos are so sweet and respectful. I love working with second language learners.

My husband is a mechanical engineer. He designs tooling for wrenches, etc. for companies like Craftsman, MATCO, etc. We have a lot of tools at our house to say the least.

School is already cancelled for tomorrow. That will make four ice/snow days in a row. I can't wait for our cruise.pirate:

Wow, Jen! 4 days off in a row!! You really will be ready to soak up some sunshine! Only 8 weeks from today!!!!

4 days off! Wow! I think I would be stir crazy. Take some extra vitamin D, it'll keep your mood up. Your DD must be having a great time playing in the snow. Mine went out three times yesterday. She came in with her cheeks all red and she still wanted to go back out! Oh, to be a kid again.

Cool!! :thumbsup2 Is your neice a child? My child is 4. My DH, DD, and I will be on this ship.

Yes, my niece is 6 years old. I'm a little worried about her going to the Oceaneer's Club alone but I'm sure she will be fine.

We hardly ever do anything without our DD. We are not usually a fan of putting her in a daycare type situation while we are on vacation but on the cruise I think she will be missing out on a lot of fun if she spends all her time with us. She would love to dance with Snow White. I know she will have so much fun in the club without us. I worry what we will do without her. princess:

Lexsea,

Is your niece a social butterly or is she shy? I would guess she would just need to hit it off with another girl near her age and then you won't be able to keep her out of there!

Sounds like you will have a great all-girl's trip! I might have to look you up to get away from all the men I an cruising with- DH, DS15 and his friend, who is also 15.

Welcome to the thread. Only 7 weeks from tomorrow - that must mean 50 days to go - and counting!!
