We spent 6 nights in Disney for my son's senior trip. Our party consisted of me and DH, and 8 teenage boys (my 2 son's and 6 of their friends). One of the boys is a vegetarian. The boys were pretty much on their own, but we met up for one meal together each day. I was consistently told that our party would be split up every time I made an ADR, but all 10 of us were seated together at every meal. We used our DDE card, which saved us a ton of money! All of our meals were very good!

Saturday, March 22:Turf Club (first time)
We were staying at SSR, so we had our first night dinner at the Turf Club. We originally had a 6:30 ADR, but everyone was hungry so I called and they let us move it up to 5:00, which is when they start seating for dinner. We were a few minutes early, so the boys played a game of pool while we waited. We were the first ones seated promptly at 5:00. I can't remember what everyone ordered, but the crab cakes were great as an appetizer. The Caesar salad was served as a long wedge rather than torn lettuce. I have never seen a Caesar salad prepared like that before. The vegetarian entree was a penne pasta which was good. I had the burger which was great; other meals were steaks and chicken - all said to be very good. This was our most expensive meal of the week, but well worth it!

Easter Sunday, March 23: San Angel (first time) and Teppan Edo (Repeat)
DH and I decided to see if we could find a place for lunch without and ADR. We tried San Angel Inn, and were seated right away. I wasn't too hungry and only ordered the Sopas off the appetizer menu, but DH got some kind of combination plate. We both had a margarita. I was glad I only ordered an appetizer since I still left there full (too many pre-meal chips and salsa!)

Dinner was at Teppan Edo, which we have eaten at once before when it was Teppanyaki. Even though the tables are set up for 8, they managed to fit us all at one table. We had a very entertaining chef - Tomo from Jacskonville Florida. Both of my sons speak Japanese and enjoyed conversing with our waitress and Tomo in Japanese. Meal was great, even though Tomo forgot to leave the veggies out of one of the boys' noodles. He was kind of bummed!

Monday, March 24: Tusker House (first time)
We spent the day at Animal Kingdom and had lunch at the Tusker House. We had to wait about 15 minutes past our ADR time, and the boys were becoming a bit impatient. We were finally seated, but it still took quite a while for our waitress to show up at our table. The boys were actually back at the table with round one of their food before the waitress showed up to get our drink orders. The food was great and everyone ate too much. This place had the best variety to choose from for our vegetarian in the group.

Tuesday, March 25: Prime Time 50's Cafe (a must do on every trip for us!)
This was our sixth time at Prime Time. We have had both good and bad servers over the years, but this was the most fun we have had here yet! Tabitha was our waitress, and she was great! She played along with the 8 boys perfectly, and I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes through most of our meal! She had my 16 year old and his friend stand with their noses against the wall, then they had to sing "I'm a Little Teapot" before they could sit back down. They were totally asking for it though and enjoyed the attention I'm sure! The little girl at the next table said to us, "They're better than cable!". The antics continued throughout dinner and it was a ton of fun! The only down side we found was the limited vegetarian selection. The one item on the menu was not very appealing. My son's friend ended up with a Caesar salad and a kiddie side of mac and cheese.

Wednesday, March 26: Kona breakfast (2nd time here) and Rainforest Cafe(1st time at WDW)
Several of us got the Tonga toast; others got various pancakes, eggs, etc. My tonga toast was good, but there didn't seem to be as much banana in it as before. The only thing that bugged us about this meal was our waitress. She kept asking the boys if they would like more juice, which of course they said yes. They assumed she meant for free, but she charged them for each refill. I should have been paying more attention but wasn't. We payed the bill and didn't say anything, but I thought it was kind of sneaky. Especially since she knew she was getting an automatic 18%. Overall everything was fine, but I'm not sure if it was worth the hour it took to get there from SSR.

Our evening got kind of messed up due to poor planning on the boys' end and bad bus service from SSR, so DH and I ended up with a very late dinner at DTD - just the 2 of us. We were tired and grumpy, and ate at RFC, mostly because we were tired and grumpy and it was right there. I got the nachos, which I didn't care for very much. DH got a pasta dish with sausage, and he thought it was good. I brought the rest of my nachos back with me, but didn't even eat much of them the next day. I finally just threw them away.

Thursday, March 27: Spoodles (second time here, but first time for dinner)
Our original plan was to go to Crystal Palace for dinner. Not so much for the character meal aspect, but for the variety of food the buffet offers. We decided not to go into the parks that day, so I canceled our ADR. We headed over to the Boardwalk, which was busier than I have ever seen it, including Christmas week. We stood in line for the ESPN club, but the line was super long and not moving at all. We decided we would stand in line for pizzas at the pizza window, as well as put our name in at Spoodles, and take whichever came up first. I also checked out Flying Fish, but there was a huge wait there as well. Spoodles came through for us before we reached the window, so we went in there. We had a huge table right in front of the kitchen area; it was definitely very cool! Lots of the kids ordered shrimp linguine, I got the shrimp appetizer, our vegetarian got several appetizers, and DH and one of the boys got the pork chop. DH thought the pork chop was very good, the kid didn't like it so much. Everything else was great. Another meal where too much food was ordered and everyone left stuffed!

Friday, March 28: Wolfgang Puck Express
DH and I didn't really have much of a plan on our last day, and headed over to DTD while the boys took off to the park. We first went into Earl of Sandwich, but left when we saw the huge line. We walked over to Wolfgang Puck Express, ans there was no wait at all. We got a meatball parmesan pizza and mac and cheese. The pizza was very good, the mac and cheese was pretty ordinary. We sat outside and had a nice lunch together.

All in all, we had great meals throughout our trip. The DDE really helped with our large party - we literally saved hundreds of dollars. The trip was fantastic, food was great, and I wish I was still there!

Very good account of your meals. Sounds like you had a great time at Prime Time 50's Cafe! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the positive remarks ... it's nice to hear good things and not bad (irksome) things blown out of purportion.

Here are a few pics from our trip. I started out taking pictures at the Turf Club, but got made fun of too much by our group! I very quickly stopped taking pictures of food!

Here is the Caesar Salad and crab cakes from Turf Club:

This was our first trip to SSR and we really liked it there. I hope you enjoyed your dinner at Teppan Edo as well!

The boys were actually a pretty fun group to have around, though we really didn't see too much of them other than meal time!

Japanese is offered at the middle school and high school in our district. My boys love the language and the culture. We always spend tons of time at the Japanese Pavilion at Epcot!

While in Lake Tahoe a couple summers ago, we found all the restaurants served the Caesar salad as a half of a head of romaine. We thought it odd also....also from Michigan.
You are a brave woman to take that group to WDW. I once took a group of 8 (four each girls & boys) on an overnite trip to Kings Island in Ohio. One night was plenty!:grouphug: :rolleyes2

Excellent reviews, thanks! :)

And my DS16 would be thrilled if our school district offered Japanese. He's been interested in learning the language and the culture for years now. That's great that your group of boys got to talk to people who's first language is Japanese :)
