Thinking of another trip in January, DH would love to eat at the Teppanyaki restaurant, but DS will 2 1/2, is that too young? I can just envision him slapping the burning hot teppan table and searing himself! Is this a valid concern? I've never been to a restaurant like this before! Would DS2 and DD5 be bored? Thanks!

We've taken our toddlers there and never had an issue. The only problem if you could call it that is that you sit with other families so I was even more concerned about my kids being on good behavior! I think they will enjoy

The staff is very careful with the little ones. Last Aug we sat with another family that had about a 1 1/2 yr old and they made sure he sat at a certain place at the table (he was in a high chair BTW) were it is almost impossible for little arms to reach the hot grill.

I don't think the other kids will be bored, all the ones I saw just seemed to stare in amazement at what the chef was doing.

You know, everyone is different. We took our kids to a local place like this when my dd who was 6 or 7, and she freaked out when the chef lit the onions on fire as part of his show. I really thought she would enjoy the show.

A few years later we went to Teppanyaki and she was having flashbacks. :scared1: She survived but it wasn't the greatest meal we had. She did like the food but DS is a picky eater and wouldn't eat a thing.
