I spent 2 hours posting a long trip report and it looks like the computer ate it!
So, I'm going to do this by days. If the other trip report comes up, forgive the duplication. First of all this was the best trip I've ever had, especially since I won it in a radio station contest (Thanks MIX 102.9 Dallas, TX). It included air, tranfers, and the cruise for 4 people. Myself, DH, DD13, and DS8. We flew to Orlando the night before (great tip DIS Board!) and we paid to stay at MCO Hyatt. Good decision! I won the trip 11 days before we went to WDW with my Dad for Thanksgiving. Ate at Boma's then and loved it so much, we had to go back. Ate at the Hyatt buffet breakfast Sunday morning. I do not recommend it. Try the fast food at the food court. Had to leave the luggage in the hallway to be picked up. I was alittle nervous about that, but the staff seemed to watch over thing very well, no problems. Walked throught the Airport to load up the buses. Check in was a breeze, pictures taken, name announced and we were there!!!
Lunch at Parrot Cay was amazing! Shrimp, berries, polenta! Whippy desserts look better that they taste. Don't eat anything that's not fanatastic. Too much other fantastic stuff.
Found room. Cat 11 on Deck 7. Small but well laid out. Found the "over the door shoe holder" to be the best tip we got from this Board. THANKS!!!!
Luggage arrived. Life boat drill, hot, crowded, but over quickly. Deck party, fun, crowded. Watched the dolphins at port from Deck 10 WOW! Horn blows, and off we go!! Can't believe all the months of planning and we are finally here.
Signed son up for the Lab. He had a blast, computers, made flubber and cookies. Bouncing up and down the whole trip!
Unpacked, I went to the Shopping Guide Presentation. They promised a diamond bracelet. Didn't expect much, but you have to take the coupon to Nassau to get it and you can't see the diamond. They sell you a book of coupons for $20, very few are for Nassau. You get free gifts with coupons at the recommended stores. The very small free gifts are not worth the space they take up in your suitcase and you can see this presentation on your stateroom TV. IMO, skip this! Prices on jewelry in Nassau were good and they do bargain with you. Let shopkeepers know you are on the Wonder for more discounts.
We dressed for dinner and saw Hercules (so-so), then off to dinner at Animator's Palate. We had late seating, APTT, table # 71, just us, servers Yaroslav and Renato (they were so fun). Food at AP was my least favorite of the resturants. DD had very good risotto. Could feel the ship crossing the Gulf Stream during dinner and felt a bit worried that the movement of the ship was what we had to expect for the whole trip, but it smoothed out about 11:00pm. Kids off to clubs, DH & I to Wavebands for the 70's Party. Then star gazing on Deck 10. Very windy, but beautiful. Relax! Heaven!
