2nd Trip with ECV

My first trip with ECV was over Spring Break, much thanks to the help and encouragement of the folks on this board. I wanted to report that I've since taken another trip and again rented a Resort ECV from Scooterbug. This was a fairly last minute trip - I flew down to help my CM daughter move into a new apartment. After my great experience last trip, I rented the same Resort ECV from Scooterbug. However, when I picked it up, I noticed immediately that the unit was a little bit different than the one I had over Spring Break. This one was bright, shiny and new and had a handy pocket on the rear of the seat back. My first rental had looked kind of old and beat up, and even had a small rip on the side of the seat back. But, it was much faster than the "bright, shiny, new" model. Speed comparison: while riding at top speed in the "old" unit, my teens would run along next to me at a very fast job, almost a slow run. In this "new" unit, they'd be at a very slow, light jog. We joked that we should call Scooterbug and ask them to bring us the old junker. The first unit was much more fun. This time, I felt like I was sort of "putzing along" the walking path from the MK to the GF. Not a big deal, but I found it interesting. I rented the "Resort ECV" both times and received 2 different units. Hm. We'll see what happens next time (because I will be ECV'ing it forever more).

Disney park rental scooters are slow, too. Maybe, Scooterbug being Disney's outside vendor is being asked to do the same with their scooters and limit the speed. Let us know on your next trip.

I believe that ScooterBug had to slow their ECVs down to continue being the preferred vendor for Disney. Check out Gold Mobility in the future, they will meet you on your schedule, you won't even need to wait for bell services. They have a lot more bells and whistles, such as a cell phone holder, fan, cup holder, undercarriage lighting (it makes a big difference in people noticing you at night and not running into you) and are generally less expensive thank anyone else. And their equipment is always in great condition as they replace it every 6 months and sell their used scooters.

Okay so I'm not crazy. I had the same experience! The first time I rented from them it felt like the scooter was super fast and subsequent times it felt like I was puttering around.

Oh, I am quite sure we are all a little crazy around here.....lol

But, not as far as this goes with ScooterBug.
