2nd stay in 15 months - Need Advice

First stay was at the Contemporary Towers (10/02 - Loved it), now I'm going to CBR January 30th through Feb. 3rd. Any advice? I have a 6 year old girl & 3 year old boy. What can I expect regarding weather, busing, food, crowds? Still a rookie at this. We will not be renting a car. L'il bit nervous, based on some of the feedback I'm reading on CBR???

Don't know anything about CBR, but I'm sure you will have a great time there, and your children will LOVE it!

Im sure you will have a great time!! Now C towers is very different then staying at the CBR. But any trip to Disney is a fun trip!!!
Jan early Feb Wether wise can be so different!! it can be in the 80's or in the 60's!!!
I would suggest 5 days before arrival to check the weather channel site online and decide fromthere!!
We are going next Sat and Im bringing everything from Bathing suits (for DD not me!!!lol )
And sweats and gloves and thermal undies!!!

I don't think that time of year is very busy (good for you), so I wouldn't think you would have any problem getting PS's. Unless of course you were trying to get Cinderellas Round Table, but hey you never know!!!

You are going to have a blast!! I know I can't wait for my trip!!!

What is Cinderella's round tabe and where? How would I get information on it? Is it a breakfast? Similar to Epcot's Princess Breakfast?

This is a REALLY hard seat to get, but I think it has been done last minute!! It is really something to remember, even my 9 year old nephew loved it! It is pretty cool just to get to go up in the castle. We actually lucked out and got two different reservations for our trip - thanks to the Polynesian Conciege! It is great to get an early PS that way you are well into the park when you are done eating and the parks are just opening.

If you want to eat in some of the more popular places like Crystal Palace for breakfast or the more popular Epcot places like Rose and Crown, Le Cellier, etc., make PS. My DH and I went the first week in Dec and the parks were empty. DH decided that since this is a slow week we would just decide where we wanted to eat while we were there. All of the rides were walk ons but alas we could NOT get PS while we were there for some of the places DH wanted to eat. So, decide where you really want to eat and call to see what is available.

Can you walk to MGM or Epcot from CBR? If so how long of a walk is it to each? Also, are local taxi's a realistic option to MK and AK? How much do you think they would be and are taxi's readily available or would you have to call first for a pick-up?

First off have a great time!
Next I haven't stayed there in years, but I don't believe you will want to walk to the parks. Disney has a great transportation system, you would do better by utilizing it.
I don't know if this will help you at all with your room, but we were in Martinique,CBR some years back. Our room was right at the lagoon facing epcot, and at night, when the kids would burnout, we would sit out and enjoy the high fireworks from the beach(made possible with baby monitors).
Oh, yes Martinique is very close to the food court and main pool......... It was very helpful for us years ago..........Hope this will be helpful for you!!

We have stayed at CBR three times and loved it each and every time! We have decided that we love Martinique (closest to food court) and Jamaica (just a lovely stroll across an island from the food court) the best.

No, you can't walk to any of the parks from CBR. It is kind of removed from anything. If you are not renting a car, I would suggest making use of the bus system. Be advised that sometimes you will wait awhile for a bus. This was the only downfall that we had with staying there. For example, if you want to go to MGM for the 3:30 parade, you need to make sure you are at the bus stop about one hour before. The one place that we insisted on driving was to Downtown Disney. It just seemed much more convenient. We waited for a bus to pick us up from there one night for an hour and decided never again!

Any on-site taxi's available? If so, are they affordable? Wouldn't mind paying to get where I want when I want, escpecially if I may have to wait awhile for buses.

Don't feel bad about all the questions. Disney offers a great bus service to all their parks, DTD, and water parks. You should have no problems whatsoever getting to the park you want to take from CBR. Considering you have "little legs" with you I would recommend using the buses even for resorts that are fairly close. They will appreciate getting to sit instead of walk *and* my 5yo ds says that riding the bus is one of his favorite attractions! It ranks right up there with the Monorail.

The buses are free and IME we have had to wait only for short periods of time. Much less than calling and waiting for a taxi. Taxis dont' "hang out" at the resorts waiting to give people lifts. Give the buses a try and if they don't work for you then ask the front desk for their recommendations on taxis. We have never used a taxi and have enjoyed the bus service. The bus drivers are very knowledgeable and usually funny. They share information and love it when guests interact with them. I think in all our bus trips we have had only 1 grumpy bus driver.

That is an Orlando TV Station and you will get a much better forecast. That is what I did last month and forecast was on the money.
