We were up at and dressed by 8:00am. We returned the iron, and picked up our $20.00, checked out and went across the street to the Mcdonalds for breakfast. The special menu was great. I had an omelette, while DH and family stuck to the basics. DH is a definite creature of habit. He had the pancake meal, while DS had the sausage egg biscuit meal; DD had a sausage biscuit. Bill $18.00. Service fast and food quite good.
Finally, we arrive at the Royal Pacific. Our room is not ready, so we leave our bags, get our hotel keys and go to the parks. We started with IOA. DH and myself headed straight to the hulk. He said that he wanted to ride, because last year, my entire family chickened out, and I ended up riding the hulk alone. Of course I've never let them forget it. The wait time 45 min in the reg line. We pull out our magic key, and head straight to the ride. Again DH chickens out and again, I ride alone. After the hulk, DD and me do storm force accelerator, then we all do spiderman. We love this ride. After that, we're extremely hot and hungry. We head off to Captain America's Diner for lunch. They had the basic burgers, chicken fingers and the like. DH and myself shared chicken fingers. DD had fries, and DS had a burger. Bill $25.00. No table service and food was as expected just okay. After lunch we headed back to the hotel to check on our room and for some pool time. Because this was our 2nd trip, we knew exactly what we wanted to see and ride, so we could take our time. Our room was ready, and much to my surprise, it was a poolview, even though I booked a standard. Did i get a free upgrade? Yes, i did. Although, at the moment I couldn't figure out why. Anyway, never look a gift horse in the mouth. We got our luggage into the room and headed for the pool. The pool at RPR is great! Although it's always busy, it never seems full and there's always plenty of chairs. We stayed there until dinner, which was around 7:00pm. When we returned to our room, much to our surprise again, was a cheese and wine tray, and a delicious tray of cookies and milk. On the bedside table was a card, which welcomed us back to the RPR, and thanked us for returning, and wished us a wonderful stay. Then i remembered. After booking our stay, I sent RPR a letter telling them about a couple of mishaps on our last stay, and told them, that despite these issues we were going to stay there again this year. I guess this was a make up. This place is just terrific!!!!
For dinner we headed to Nascar Cafe to use our GC's. We're not Nascar fans and decided this would just be okay, but much to our surprise, it was the best meal that we had over our entire vacation. It was a little noisy with the engine roaring, but that didn't last the entire dinner, they did that roaring thing in spurts. Most of the televisions were on Nascar stuff, but one of them was on the NBA draft, which we enjoyed. Now for dinner: DH and DS had the babyback ribs, DD had you guessed it " chicken fingers", I had the pork chops and "smashed" potatoes. The portion size was just too much for one person. We could have split each meal and still had left overs. The pork chops were grilled and seasoned very well. The guys raved about the ribs. DD loved the chicken fingers, which maybe isn't saying that much, because the girl looooves chicken fingers. We presented our GC's at the end of dinner. We were able to use both $25 on the same check with no problem. We had excellent service, and the bill was $80.00 minus the 50.00, we paid $30.00 plus gratuity. After such a delicious and hearty meal, we decided we would walk it off a little. We shopped in citywalk for awhile, and headed for the boat dock, at about 10:30pm. Went back to RPR, where we were welcomed with our beds turned back, music playing and a little trinket, and card attached, which read "sweet dreams" We showered and went to be thinking, that this is going to be a wonderful vacation.
