hi guys, my dd is in 2nd grade and came home with really basic geometry. I was just wondering where I might find more worksheets for her to do. (it was stuff like draw a figure congruent to this one, name the solid figures, name the plane figures, which picture shows symmetry, etc) thanks, maggie

You might find something like that at some stores. I know Toys R US, Meijer and a couple others have little booklets that help teach different subjects.

Ask the teachers where the "teachers store" is. We have one called Bookmark which has everything on the planet and then some.

How old is her math book? Is there a website listed on the flap or on the inside somewhere? You might can find some supplemental stuff to go along with the book.

My son has the same type homework, i sn't that amazing in the second grade...

Ask also at the school for the curriculum guide/or what they are usuing.. Some curriculum has Parent's Guide/Instructors Guides.

Good luck!

Wow! I wish that my 2nd grader DS was having that type of homework - at least he'd be challenged a bit! They are still in the review stage and this weeks homework is adding two's. (7 + 2 =...etc.) DS is so bored with it.

We have a great store locally called Hammetts (sp?) that has a lot of workbooks. Don't know of any sites on-line.

JESW I feel your pain! Adding doubles this week (5+5) DD is very bored as well!

Hmmm. Last year in K, ds studied symmetry,
types of triangles, parallel and perpendicular,
list the letters on the same plane....I just
figured they were all doing that kind of thing.
They mixed adding, subtracting, fractions,decimals
and similar in with all that geometry too.
I've found workbooks at the teacher's store and
even at Staples. Also, there is software that
really concentrates on math-all aspects. I saw
a "Star Wars Math" CDrom in the Scholastic order
form this time.

the edhelper.com address above is wonderful! You can generate an endless amount of worksheets - with the answers :)
