Are the second doses that they give to kids under 10 exactly the same as the first dose? We've been having an awful time finding it (like everyone I guess).

Our Pediatrician gave it to 2 out of my 3 kids (b/c the third one didn't have asthma bad enough. :sad2:), but I'm wondering if I see a clinic somewhere can I take them for the second dose?

Will it make a difference? I don't want to overdose them or anything, but I still need to find a clinic to give my third son his shot anyway. How long do you need to wait between shots?

CDC recommends that the two doses of 2009 H1N1 vaccine be separated by 4 weeks. However, if the second dose is separated from the first dose by at least 21 days, the second dose can be considered valid.

The doses are exactly the same. Children under 10 just need two doses to get the needed immunity.

I would think if your ped gave your kids their first dose, they should have vaccine on hand for the second dose as well...but nothing is as it seems it should be with this vaccine distribution. Good luck on finding vaccine for all your kids.

My DS(3) got the first dose on 10/25. They said they would call when the had the second dose and it was due to be given. Now I am concerned hearing this that it will be available when needed. :headache: The situation is so nerve wracking as a parent. Keeping my fingers crossed.
