This is my second time trying to book this reservation for the fall at ASMO. They don't make it easy. The first time I ended up with WDTC instead of CRO. Spent over 30 minutes on the phone booking it and ended up having to call back to cancel so I could rebook with CRO.
I just called back, made sure I got CRO (had to be transferred). We wanted a AAA rate to start out with but are also staying over a rate change period, October 31-November 6.
Wanting to get the best rate possible, I asked if I could make two reservations. One for the first two nights and a separate one for the last four that are at the beginning of the value season. I was told that with the AAA rate this would be the same rate. Is that right? I would think if the rate went down for value season then the AAA rate would go down also. Does anyone know? The rate I was given was $1131 for six nights which breaks down to $94.25 per night, per room (we are getting two rooms). I know we have stayed there for cheaper when we were DC, but we don't have that now.
Do I need to make a totally separate res for the last four nights to get a better rate for value season, and (last of all, I hope)if I do call, can the agents see that I already have a res in there for those dates? If I got a lower rate, I would then cancel the last four days on my other res.
Thanks so much for any input anyone has.
