We'll be making the long journey the middle of February (just missing value season). Will only have 4 full days at WDW (MK, AK, MGM, EPCOT). We're on a bit of a budget and was looking to stay at POR or WL. My husband says we should stay at POR and use the $600 saved by staying there for other things during our vacation. My 10-yr old daughter and I feel we should spend the extra and stay at WL since we may never have the opportunity again. I'm leaning towards my husband's decision (drats!) but I still need some convincing. I even thought of doing a split stay but then I thought it might be too much of a hassle and waste of time to have to pack up and recheck into a different resort. Opinions, anyone? Please??

I would stay at POR and use the $600 for something else. It's a lovely resort and it sounds like you will be spending most of your time in the parks anyway. Check out the pictures on wdwinfo site and you will see what an awesome place it is. It's so awesome that I'm going in 7 more days!!!:woohoo:

We've never done a split stay because I want every waking hour to be about having fun in WDW not packing and unpacking.

Have a great time!!

Sounds like a short trip.....and if you plan on spending most of your
time at the parks....I'd pick POR....

I do love WL and would definately tell you to stay there if you have
any down time in your plans to "hang" at the resort.
Happy planning

We have stayed at both resorts and have loved them. Only you can determine whether you can spend the extra money on WL. I would not do a split stay because you will waste valuable park time to change. WL is impressive and close to the MK. Bus service to the other parks is good (better than the other MK deluxes). POR gets a lot of complaints about the buses but we have stayed there 4 or 5 times and not found it to be that bad. Sometimes they are crowded but never a long wait. Good luck on making your decision. I don't think you will be disappointed in either one.

I would go with POR. They have the boat to DTD and a great pool and themeing plus the $600 saved! What are you looking for in the WL? Just the deluxe part? Go have dinner there one night with your $600 saved! You'll have a blast no matter what you decide!

Aloha! :goodvibes

I would definitely go for staying at the WL the entire time. As you only have four days, the WL is just a boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom. You would have to take the bus to AK, DS and EPCOT but just cutting out having to use the bus for one park would save a lot of time. Plus you have access to all the other Magic Kingdom area resorts for dining and for watching the MK fireworks.

You would save money staying at POR but honestly I would go with that option unless you absolutely have to. Some folks like the bus transportation but when I stayed at POFQ we got picked up first and *then* they headed over to POR. Very frustrating for those folks.

I wouldn't advise a split stay since your stay is so short to begin with. It would be a big hassle IMO. Another poster recommended Pop Century. That's a great option! I've stayed there myself and love it. It's cheaper than POR (you would save even more money) and Pop has its own buses.

Hope that helps! Regardless of which option you choose you'll have a great time at WDW!
