I am to take this test but am really unsure how they do it and what it entails. Any info would be appreciated about this test. I also am having a 48-Hour Holter and was wondering if anyone had ever had that done. I leave in 2 weeks and hope that nothing comes up because I really don't want (and would cost a lot of money) to cancel our trip.
A little happiness though, the package from Disney came today with our reservation details, 2 luggage name tags and some brochures. I really can't wait.

I had a 24 hour holter and there was nothing to it. You have the ekg leads on and wear a little machine that records your heart traces for 24 hours. You also have a little diary that you use to record your activity. Nothing to it.

I also had a 2DMmode echocardiogram. It's basically an ultrasound of your heart. It is simple, easy and painless.

I don't know about the "color flow doppler", though

Color flow doppler just shows the blood moving through the valves and chambers of the heart. Its usually part of the 2d echo. Easy test, no needles, no pain. A little jelly on your chest is all you have to deal with.

Good Luck

Oh good that doesn't sound as bad as I thought. I have to go to admitting for this test, and that threw me off because I thought I'd just go to the ultrasound dept. The test is being done on a different floor of our hospital. Our hospital is just a small country place, so when I was told it wasn't being done in the dept. I thought it was suppose to be I got worried. I feel a lot better now.
