2br/total guests? once in a lifetime experiences?

You might want to consider contacting Disney's Photographic service. A woman I work has done this a couple of times and heartily recommends it. You spend an hour in either the Magic Kingdom or the World Showcase, and the photographer takes tons of photos with various backdrops and combinations of people.

You can then purchase as many or as few of the pictures as you'd like. You can preview the proofs over the Internet too, and allow others to look at them. I saw her Epcot proofs, and they were very well done.

So it'd be a nice rememberance, and one you could share with friends and family around the country, too.

A good suggestion for your FIL is to check in with Guest Relations at the first park you go into. I don't know what his physical state is, but I'll bet he might tire easily. Explain to the Cast Member in Guest Relations his situation and ask about the possibility of getting a "special access" card. This will allow 6 people all together to go through an alternative line so he won't have to wait as long. The card will be good for all parks for the duration of your trip. I know there are more members in your party, but you could alternate or there might be times you would be split up. At any rate, Guest Relations might help with other suggestions as well. What a wonderful thing to do! Good luck and have a great time taking LOTS of pictures and videos for lasting memories!

The card that was mentioned is called a "Guest Assistance Card".
If you follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES Board, you will find a lot of information. There is a section about Guest Assistance Cards in the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of the disABILITIES Board (also called GAC, so we don't have to type so much).

Thanks everyone!
If we were able to secure a 2br, is there a possibility that a studio is next door? We stayed in a studio before and I only remember the connecting door and the outside door.
I guess what I'm asking is what is the best configuration?
Thanks for ALL your help! Once again you all are amazing!

at OKW and I am assuming SSR you can ask for the 2 villas to be in the same building. OKW building are not big - so not a problem. SSR is bigger - so you might have some problems. get the renter to ask for medical reasons so you get the first floor. OKW has steps in most of their building. SSR has one elevator in each building - but from some places at SSR the stairs are definitely the easily way to get around.

at the other places you can only ask for close to each other. here is the problem with that - you opinion of close to each other and the room controller are differ. My opinion - down the hall even way down the hall - 10 doors or more. the room controller seems to think close is the floor below or above you.
