we are really hoping to get our request of a first floor pool view
My wife and I will be in a 1 bedroom at BCV Feb 10-13 2011 without the kids to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We've never stayed at BCV before. A first floor pool view room sounds like fun if it means easy access to the hot tub. I assume you can go straight out your room to the pool/hot tub (i.e., you don't have to use the hallway)? Can anyone who has liked staying in a first floor BCV pool view room tell me more about it?

As former posters have stated, there are low shrubs in front of the patios at the sliding glass doors. Depending where your room is, the shrubs vary in density. If you look at the room layout on www.ParkInfo2go you will see where the 1 BR villas are located. Rooms 108 and 110 are closest to the hot tub but the shrubs are thick there and you wouldn't be able to walk directly out to the hot tub and pool from your patio door. You also wouldn't be able to see your patio door from the hot tub. Our favorite rooms have been 136 and 138. We always use the patio door to get to the pool and hot tub. The hedge is easy enough for me to straddle without disturbing the bushes and I'm 5'2". (also the smallest one in my family) I'm also CRAZY about flowers and gardens and would NEVER disturb the plantings. Just ask my kids. When they were growing up, it was an automatic "out" if someone kicked the kickball in my flowerbeds. We LOVE the pool view and are dissappointed when we don't get it. I doubt that it will be noisy in Feb. It may be to cold for most to swim in the pool. Oh, but that hot tub would be heavenly. Enjoy your trip!
Just so you know, in case you missed the discussion a child was bit by a water mocassin retreiving a toy from the shrubs at a Disney resort. Please be careful. Pgymy rattlers also like to rest in the shrubs.
