C.Ann,
Wal-Mart, etc. do have those trees, but I don't know how much they are. Sometimes Pool King has fantastic sales and reduces the prices on their trees and decorations as well.

C. Ann,

We had to get an artificial tree 2 years ago because of DS's severe allergy to real trees. We ended up with a gorgeous tree out on the deck, because he woke up barely able to breathe.

We bought a pre-lit tree from Sears. I am really happy with it. All the branches are color-coded and it goes up in about 20 minutes. We bought ours during the after Christmas sales and paid around 100 for a 7' (got a GREAT deal).

I am hopeless at lights too, and this is a godsend.

Good Luck

We got a little one, 3' I think, for our family room that has the woodstove in it. It was $20 or $30 I think, at Michael's Craft Store.

We bought an 8 foot pre-lit tree two years ago - and we LOVE it! It was expensive - I think around $300. You can get them at Target, Sears, etc for less - but the quality may a little lacking. It goes together rather quickly, and we haven't had a proplem with the lights (they stay on the tree and haven't burned out). I have hardwood floors and three years ago, I'm lucky that I didn't ruin the floors - every time I watered the real tree, water would run out the other side of the water holder (unknown to me at the time!) So the "fake" tree ws a "must" for us. Good luck!

We bought a pre-lit 9 ft tree last year, the kind with large bulbs. It is the best tree we've ever had!!! We were lucky enough to get a great deal on it. It was just under $300 on sale from $500.

Our tree is in a rather large box because of the tree size. All the branches are color coded and are linked together with the light cording. Not difficult to put up at all. Our's does take a little time though because of it's size.

We bought ours from a store that sells Christmas trees & decorations, Hallooween decorations, hot tubs and pools. But pre-lit trees are available at all chain stores. All though I have never seen one at a chain store that has the type of bulbs we have.

Good luck tree shopping!!:p
