25th Anniv, DxDp, Lots of Pics, PixieDust, New 11/7 The End

Hi everyone. I had hoped to do an update earlier in the week but it just did not happen. On Wed. night I had a meeting. I am the treasurer of our bargaining unit (union) & we had a meeting on Wed. night (where we voted for officers again & guess who is Treasurer again). Then Thurs. night we go grocery shopping. Today's plan was for DH & I to get up early & paint the deck closest to the pool because at first they were predicting sunshine but the last few days they were saying rain & sure enough it has been cloudy & drizzly all day so hopefully tomorrow we will paint. We went to Walmart today & we got the Alice in Wonderland DVD so we will watch it tonight. Ok back to my update. Sunday May2nd...This was the only day we had 3 sit down meals:scared1: With Deluxe dining I wanted to try & use most of our credits so we set a wake up call for 7:15 and our ADR was at 8:00 for Cape May Cafe. Not far to go as we were already at the BC.
Here is a pic from our table:

I don't know what happened to pics with Mickey:confused3
The buffet was very good. We then headed through the secret entrance & headed to the rope drop for Soarin. We were wondering if they would let us through WS before 9:00 and they did. We were right at the rope with everyone else. We walked with the masses to Soarin & got right on. We also got row one:thumbsup2. A great ride as always. It was so cute-there was a couple there from Hong Kong & she had never ridden Soarin before & she buckled in using the kids loop. She was so excited & it was fun sitting next to her & watching her reaction to it all:) After we got off we got a fastpass for it & headed over to Test Track. It was basically a walk on also. After that we sat here:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip348.jpg

and watched the JaMMitors:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip347.jpg

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip346.jpg

We enjoy watching them. It was about 10:30 at this time. We went into the F&G building & looked around. They hold different gardening classes & sell a lot of the F&G items. I bought a F&G pin & the Mickey windchime for my best friend. We then walked back over to TT & got a fastpass for it. We then went back & used our fastpass for Soarin & then did Living with the Land. Again some more pixie dust..we got front row so I took lots of pics:

See the Mickey Trap??
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip361.jpg

After Living With The Land we walked over & got another fastpass for Soarin to use later.
Continued in next post..

We had a lunch ADR for 12:00 at Chefs so we headed to WS & here are some pics along the way:

This was walking in on the way to rope drop first thing in the am:

And Lunch here:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip371.jpg

We had had lunch here a few years ago & really enjoyed it & really liked the wine I had here which was Blanc De Blanc wine & Black Currant liqueur. Well I tried to order it again & our CM who had only been here 2 months could not speak English very well & I guess could not understand very good either. He brought me the special wine of the day, the Kir which is not what I wanted. It was good but when I finished it I asked for my Black Currant wine & he brought it. This CM tried to order for us. He kept saying "You have the Deluxe Plan & you should get...." I was like "I know what I want so this is what we are ordering". He tried to do this when we ordered dessert also:confused3 Don't tell me what I want. We wanted to eat somewhat light as we were eating 3 sit downs today. My DH got the cheese plate, Ham & Cheese quiche, & Creme Brule. I got the Lobster Bisque, quiche, & Profiterolies. I guess I did not get any pics of this. When this CM brought us our check it was wrong. It belonged to the table next to us which were not on the dining plan. They may have had the TIW card & our CM was all confused:confused3 It took him about 15 minutes to get it all cleared up. Poor Gregory. He said he wanted to move to the US & was here to improve on his English. Hopefully he is doing better now.:)

So after being stuffed after our 2nd sit down of the day we headed back through the secret entrance & I was headed to the beautiful BC pool:cloud9:
Now I had read a lot about Teena who works at the BC through the BC thread & I knew she was working today so on the way back in I introduced myself & here is a pic of the 2 of us:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip372.jpg

Teena is such a wonderful lady!! We got talking about the deluxe dining plan & she asked me where we were eating at DHS & I said Mama Melrose. She mentioned that we may want to try Hollywood Brown Derby to use up some credits. I thought that was a great idea as we had not tried it there so when I got to the pool I called & changed our ressie. She also did something very nice for us for our 25th anniv. but I do not want to broadcast it as she cannot do it for everyone but if you have a chance stop by & say hello to Teena at the Beach Club. She is awesome:worship: She is so valuable on the BC thread. She answers many many questions for many many of us dissers!!

So we headed to the room & I changed & got my book & headed to the pool.
My DH cannot take the Chlorine as he gets all filled up so he stayed in the room & I think had a nap. I went down & got my chair. Now this was Sunday & it was the day that Cody had a soccer game back home. I was feeling bad that we were not there. My DH & I go to every one of his games. (We do miss some High School ones if they are away & during the week) but all other travel, indoor, summer games we never miss. So after changing our ADR I text Cody's coach & put "Score"?? I did not hear back from him right away as he was coaching after all. But I did hear from Cody first & it said something like "I got hurt-took a knee to my thigh & I am icing it & keeping it elevated". Well now I felt really bad:sad1: Not only did we miss the game but my baby got hurt!!! I guess it happened right before half time. So the coach took him out for a little while but he is the only sweeper(the last defender before the goalie) they have so he asked him to run on the side lines to see if he was ok. I guess as long as he was running it was ok but when the game was over he really felt it. It was throbbing when he called me & bruised. I told him to take some Advil & to keep icing it. I guess it was not too good the next day but it got better. Now I don't remember the score but I think they tied 1-1.
I forgot to mention on our arrival day I got a text from my oldest son Ryan. Now keep in mind that DH & I do most of the chores in the house. My kids are quite spoiled:rolleyes: so we had to show them how to clean the cats litter & such. They do do their own laundry & Cody usually folds towels & puts them away but not much of anything else. So I get this text from Ryan on Friday at 2:44pm:
Sink & dishwasher are empty, mail in, Willow's litter clean, hope you're having fun.:lmao: I thought that was cute that he was letting me know he is doing all the chores. I think they realized while we were gone all that Mom & Dad do on a daily basis:)
Here is a pic of another towel animal waiting for us when we got back from Epcot:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip374.jpg

So around 5:30 we headed back to Epcot as we had an ADR at Tutto Italia for 6:25& we had these fastpasses and here are a few more pics I took in WS that day:

Coming up: Our dinner at Tutto & some EMH
Going to watch a movie now. Hope to do another update tomorrow.

Great Epcot morning! Good job collecting fastpasses for later. :thumbsup2 It looks like the sky-writer was still flying around... we saw him/her writing in the sky during our Epcot visits too... don't remember which day though. :confused3

Sorry your DS got hurt at his soccer game. :sad2: The message from home is so sweet! I bet it made you guys relax & enjoy yourselves more. :goodvibes

What a great morning at Epcot, and it sounds like you had a very yummy breakfast and lunch! I can't imagine three sit-down meals in one day, though -- I am sure I would burst!

Poor Cody getting hurt at the game! :( Kudos to the boys for making sure all the chores were getting done! I am sure that eased your mind a bit!

Wow, great update and great pictures! I loved Cape May when we went for breakfast, the characters are so cute in their beach apparel!

I love Chefs but we too have had a waiter that didn't speak English very well, but since Canada is a bilingual country, Jasmine was able to help along in that area.

I can't wait to hear about Tutto, it's my daughters favorite restaurant, she said it's because the lasagne is so delicious, but I think it might be the eye candy;)

We did have a great morning. I know 3 sit downs was a bit much!! I tried to space them out quite a bit but still way too much food!! Great food but a lot of it!! Yes Ryan was getting the chores done. Cody not so much. He admitted when we got home that Ryan did it all.:rolleyes1 Luckily Cody's injury healed pretty quickly.

Yes I love the beach apparel they wear at Cape May. The food was very good. I still like Crystal Palace the best though for the breakfast buffet. I am always comparing other places to CP:)
Yes there is eye candy at Tutto::yes:: We really enjoy it there & Italian is one of my favorite types of food so we try to go there every year. A teenage girl would definitely enjoy the scenery!!:)

I enjoyed reading the post about your meeting with Teena and looking at the familiar picture!

Doreen and I "met" when I PM'ed her to request a photo to send to Teena. Last July, before our first stay at the Beach Club, I had contacted a bunch of regular posters to the BC thread, and asked them to e-mail photos of their families to me. When my family arrived, we were greeted by Teena and presented her with the photo album. I promised Teena I would keep up with the project, since she meets so many people and this is a nice way for her to keep memories of the people she has met and helped. When I have time, I PM posters to that thread to see if they want to add their family's photos to Teena's album. Sorry to hijack, Doreen, but if any of you past or future BC clubs guests want to add to the collection, feel free to PM me and I will provide you with my e-mail address.

Doreen lives close to my hometown, and about 40 minutes from my where I live now, so we hope to meet up sometime this summer! Doreen, guess what! I am a treasurer too. I was treasurer of the local mother's club for 9 years, also of a local playgroup and next year will be my final year as PTA treasurer, after 5 years. Next year will be our 25th wedding anniversary and we have 2 boys, too (younger though). It will be fun to get together to discuss the things we have in common!

Oh yeah, and on our trip in August 2008 (our "Fayecation" during TS Faye) we had the Deluxe Dining plan. We are a family who can eat, but I agree, WAY too much food. Plus, my older son had some sort of stomach issue and didn't want to be around food. That made it fun when we had 2-3 sitdown meals each day!

Ok so it is another very cloudy day here in NH:sad2: Not getting any outside work done this weekend. Good day to Dis though.

So my DH is out with Cody right now. Cody is practicing driving:scared1: Now he is 17 yrs old so he could have gotten his license last year & has never asked to or asked if he could drive:confused3 Not sure if he is scared or what but he starts drivers ed on the 23rd of this month.

A few months ago I let him drive down the street to his friends house (5 houses down) It was his very first time behind the wheel & I thought well it is a straight shot down the street how bad can it be??? Well it was scary:scared1: We almost ended up in a few of our neighbors lawns!! My DH was watching from our living room window & said "Boy that was scary" & I said "You should have been in the car!!!" Yesterday I let him drive a few feet when we got close to another friends house(& not a lot of traffic) he did
a little better. Anyway back to my TR..I forgot to post some photopass pics earlier but I will at the end. So we headed to Tutto We had the choice to sit outside or inside. The sun was hitting most of the tables outside so we chose to sit inside. We were in a little alcove with a view to the outside tables. Now I thought I had taken more of our meal pics but I do not find any of this meal. Sorry!! I had the ceasars salad, Cannelloni & tiramisu. Not sure what DH had. I have all my receipts except that meal:confused3. There was singing all around us for birthdays & such & my DH says "I guess they do not sing for anniversaries" & I said that is OK. I do not like attention especially in a restaurant. Well not 2 minutes later I see 3 CM's coming towards us with a candle in a little chocolate mousse dessert. They sang to us & we got a free dessert. It was very nice. We were stuffed!! Our plan was to go back to future world & use our fastpasses for Soarin & TT. Well after eating that much you would think we would WALK to FW but we took the last boat of the evening over. We road Soarin & then TT. Now I was itching to go see a certain castle & walk down a certain Main Street. Heck we had been there since Friday & it was Sunday. I knew it was EMH that night at MK so that is where we headed. We monorailed it over to TTC & then when we got off the monorail at the MK we walked down & saw the water parade going by:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip390.jpg

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip392.jpg

Then saw this beautiful site:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip415.jpg

It was about 9:30. We watched Wishes (took pics with my camera phone) & then headed to Space Mtn. It was about a 10 min wait then walked right into Mickey's Philharmagic & It's a Small World:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip410.jpg

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip408.jpg

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip403.jpg

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip401.jpg

Then we headed to Haunted Mansion. It was about a 5 min wait. After we rode that I was getting tired so we took some photopass pics & headed out. It was this time:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip420.jpg
.
Here are some Main Street night time pics:

Here are some photopass pics: Please excuse my "puffy" face as I was on some medications (that I will explain more further in our trip) that make my face swell up.

Well I wonder how the driving is going?? They are not back yet.

Awesome updates Doreen !!! I LOVE EMH at MK !! We all did it in February and the rides were walk on !! Felt like we had the Park to ourselves !!

I have had such a stressful week and am just finding the time to get a little caught up with my Dis Friends !!!

It sounds like you sat exactly where we sat at Tutto Italia last October, and you had exactly what I had for dinner when we were there. It was delicious, wasn't it?

Love the Magic Kingdom at night!!! It's my favorite time to be there!

I can totally relate to you on the driving thing...that was me last summer! I also took my daughters friend driving as her parents never did :confused:and I thought she had the same level of experience as Jasmine, well boy did I find out different. She almost plowed into a parked car so I had to grab the wheel from her, in the process I broke 2 bones in my hand...I had a boxers cast for almost 8 weeks, came off right before we left for WDW in August. From that point on, I just took Jasmine driving.:lmao:

Great update....I do love the food at Tutto.....there is one dessert there and I get it all the time and I forget the name now but I know it's $14 and worth every penny in my opinion:cloud9:

Oh, Doreen, no place is more enchanting than the MK at night! So happy you had a chance to see the EWP - this December my friends and I have splurged on a Poly CL TPV room! Evenings we will be able to see EWP and the Castle right from our room and balcony day or night!! Be still my heart. :cloud9:

LOVE the added pics - especially the ones of you & DH. Beautiful! :goodvibes

As for teens and driving - my kids grew up in Boston and Cambridge - probably because of excellent public transportation neither of them had any interest in learning to drive. DD took Drivers Ed with some of her friends the summer after graduation. Think she did get her license at 18, but my son waited until he was 20 or 21....and he was our wild one so thank goodness he waited!!!

Yes it is so good at Tutto. I just love it.
I love the MK at night also.

Poly CL!! How great is that?? I know you will have an awesome time! I want to hear all about it.

I think 16 is too young to drive. Especially now with all this texting & cell phones. I think Cody waiting was a good thing. And he has Mom & Dad to drive him where ever he wants to go. Now he has friends getting their license so he is anxious all of a sudden. But I think the older they are the better.

Wow. That was sweet of you to bring a daughters friend driving:scared1: And see what you got from it?? Oh my gosh. Did she get her license??? I hope she got better first!!! I am glad the cast came off just in time for Disney.:) After Jeff & Cody got home today Cody & I went to the local Mall which is about 7 min. away. I let him drive both ways. It was the LONGEST 14 minutes of my life:lmao: He is getting better but still getting used to turning & knowing how the steering wheel works. Very nerve wracking!!:scared1:

Great update....I do love the food at Tutto.....there is one dessert there and I get it all the time and I forget the name now but I know it's $14 and worth every penny in my opinion:cloud9:

Everything at Tutto is delicious!! You must mean the Copetta Sotto Bosco which is: berries, zabaglione cream gelato & choc. sauce. (I had to look at the menu). That does sound wonderful. I have to watch eating berries so that is a no no for me but I am a Tiramisu loving girl!!

Somehow I think I missed your post.

Wow we do have a lot in common!! I am used to taking money so I do not mind being treasurer. It is the negotiating between the 2 sides that is tedious!! I do not think we will come to any agreements for quite some time.

I cannot imagine having a stomach issue & being around that much food!! It was a lot of food but we did enjoy all the places that we got to try.

Yes I love the beach apparel they wear at Cape May. The food was very good. I still like Crystal Palace the best though for the breakfast buffet. I am always comparing other places to CP:)

It was this time:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip420.jpg

Past my bedtime anywhere except Disney World. ;)

I think 16 is too young to drive. Especially now with all this texting & cell phones.

Me, too. ::yes::

So we left off ending Sunday night at the MK.
Monday Morning 5/3:
I was up at 6:30. DH slept until 7:30. While he was getting ready I went down to the BC Marketplace & bought a shirt I had been looking at & some magnets. We were at the bus stop for 8:00 to head back to the MK The bus did not come until 8:30:confused3 Once we got to the MK the opening had already started so we basically went right in. We immediately headed to my favorite ride:

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip421.jpg

And it was DOWN!!!:sad2: So we got a fastpass for it. They could not tell us how long it would be down. We went & rode BTMRR with no wait & then headed over to POC
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip425.jpg

It was a walk on also. Gotta love MK in the early am:

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip423.jpg

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip424.jpg

So we went to check on Splash after POC & it was still down. In all our trips we had never done Tom Sawyer Island so my DH & I did it on this trip:

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip450.jpg

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip442.jpg

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip443.jpg

I got some pics of HM from the island also:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip447.jpg

And some of BTMRR:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip452.jpg

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip454.jpg

It was nice doing something new. Of course we checked to see if Splash was working yet but not yet... so we headed over to:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip426.jpg

It was a 30 minute wait so we grabbed a fastpass. My DH & I love the cream cheese filled pretzels at the Lunching Pad so we used a snack credit & split a pretzel. We rode the TTA & then headed over to:
25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip432.jpg

25thAnniversaryDisneyTrip435.jpg

My DH beat me 183,000 to 154,000. Actually 154,000 was pretty good for me. Then we headed over to Laugh Floor. Funny as always. After that we headed right over to The Plaza for our 12:30 ADR.

Coming up:

Lunch at the Plaza
Dinner at Kona
More MK

If Crystal Palace is better than Cape May, it is wonderful! Cape May is the best buffet I have ever been to on Disney property. We love Crystal Palace for dinner so much, but we need to get there for breakfast soon.

Past my bedtime anywhere except Disney World. ;)
Me, too. ::yes::

Yes you have got to try CP for breakfast. I think it is the best breakfast buffet!!

Way past my bedtime usually also. I was in bed at 10:00 last night.

I know they can get a job at 16 & it helps if they have their license but I still think it is young.

Hurray for a morning at the Magic Kingdom! You were able to get some really neat pictures from Tom Sawyer Island! I really want to try one of those cream cheese pretzels I hear so much about.

Hi Jackie-Yes you should try one of those pretzels when you go in July. They are so good!! Yeah we did get some good pics. I waited for BTMR to go by so I could get a shot of it.

I'm glad you got to visit Tom Sawyer Island!! We FINALLY made it there on our last day in May... (the day I was supposed to be having a DIS-meet with you ;))

I hope everything goes smoothly with Cody's driving! :scared1:
