I'm trying to surprise my wife by waking her up the day of our 25th and wisking her away to Disney by plane. I've made reservations for Port Orleans. We spent our honeymoon at disney and dined on the Empress Lilly. Is Fultons the same place?? Also any idea how I can surprise her and not break the secret?? We are going in October. Is it wrong to not let her know we are going???

yea Fulton is the ferry.

just tell her you are going on a business trip and she needs to come along....

no - that makes it more romantic - okay my opinion.

if you can afford it might do dinner at the Cont's california grill, or WL's artist pointe, or GF's Victoria and alfreds.

be sure to tell DIsney. if you didn't when you make the reservation - call back now and do it.

when you get to POR - tell the front desk. get a pin for anniversary (don't know if it has the year or not)

Thank you for the suggestions I will do that. I didn't let them know when I made the reservation that it was our aniversary, I didn't realize they would do anything special.

with Disney you never know.

just depends upon the CM that you get along the way.

some will make a big deal out of it - others won't.

you might also do some of the tours that Disney offers.

In 2003 we spent our 25th anniv at POR - Riverside. We splurged and had dinner at Victoria & Alberts. It was the most wonderful meal we have ever had. We said we would go back on our 30th and eat at Victoria and Albert's again. . . . and that is what our plans are for April 2008. You would not regret spending the extra money for such a wonderful occasion. There is a dress code there. So be sure to check that out. Your honey would feel very special! I did!

Congratulations on 25 years!!!!

PS) If you do try to surprise her, make sure she has something packed special to wear for the evening.

You can go to disney.com and order personalized tee or baseball shirts.

For our 25th I ordered Incredibles shirts with our names on the front and 1982 on the back. My husband got a kick out of them when he saw them.

Everyone who saw us asked about the shirts and the significance of 1982.

Not all couples dress alike, for a 25th anniversary it does bring attention at meals, photopass stops, etc.

Surprises are nice- we got a signed photo from Mickey, and a Fruit, cheese and wine basket in the room when we arrived.

After 25 years you must have heard something special at Disney that she would enjoy- perhaps some engraved crystal frames or glasses?

It's our 15th this year and here are a few ideas of other romantic things to do. At Port Orleans you can have a carriage ride around the resort. You can have flowers delivered to your room or a bottle of wine. The Disney Florist does it. You should check the site out they even have romance baskets. You could have a couples massage at the Grand Floridian or Saritoga Springs. One year I rented the pontoon boat for the Epcot fireworks for a suprise for my husbands birthday. I got them to decorate the boat with streamers and balloons, they had a huge cake that said Happy Birthday and hot chocolate. They even got everyone on the bridge between england and france to sing Happy birthday to him. It was a great suprise. You could do the same only with Anniversary decorations. No matter what, she will be so pleased about all the work you did, It will be a hit.

A few years back I took DH away for the weekend for his birthday. Since it is nearly impossible to pack & get out for the weekend w/out the other person knowing, you could try what I did. Just tell your wife you've got plans & not to schedule anything for however many days. Pack, but don't let her see anything or tell her where you are going. The anticipation & curiosity will drive her crazy!

As for romantic ideas...during our honeymoon we did the carriage ride @ Fort Wilderness. Came w/a small bottle of champagne & we timed it so we could see glimpses of the fireworks @ MK through the trees.

Another idea...get a limo to take you from MCO to WDW & for the return trip to the airport. Nothing like traveling in style! :cool1:

Congrats on 25 years! What's your secret to a long happy marriage?
