25 night minimum?

You don't get your free night. I'm not sure what else.

i hope nothing else because we wont meet that - no way!!! i was reading lurkyloo's passporter wedding book and it alsmost seemed like you could somehow get dinged for NOT meeting this room minimum? we havent exchanged deposits yet, but noone has mentioned this so far....

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but I think you will be charged the missing number of nights at the lowest resort rate in your room block.

you can actually work with your Wedding coordinator to either lower your minimum room nights or opt out of the whole thing and receive no discount rate.

i think that is what i read? noone has explicated this to us YET... honestly, they can ki$$ my you know what if that happens. i will seriously reconsider booking anything thru DFTW - we can get married and take folks out to dinner for a heck of alot less $$$$. that is INSANE.

It is true that you can do that.. I just signed my contract ..I think the lowest they will do is 10 minimum nights.

If you have trouble making room minimums, try going to different parts of the boards and ask if anyone will say that they are going to their wedding. I got about 10 nights that way! :goodvibes

The contract states that if you don't make the room-night minimum, they will charge you the price of the cheapest room in your block for each of the missing nights.

However, I have *never* heard of anyone actually being penalized this way because Disney will work with you on the number of nights required if there are extenuating circumstances (small group, everyone lives in Orlando, etc.). Also, as the previous poster mentioned, you can add anyone's Disney resort reservation number to your block in order to qualify, so if there are other people you know traveling to Disney when you are, they may offer to help you meet your minimum.

I had my night requirement waived because almost all my family will be staying at they're timeshares. I think only my friends and me and Danny will be staying on site.

My sales consultant was very understanding of this and told me not to worry about it that she'd just take it off.

If we were to remove it do our guests still receive the hotel discount?
No, there'd be no discount because there's no room block. You could just reduce it to a 10-15 night block if you feel like you won't make it to 25.

we're in the same situation because I can totally see members of my family not going...but whatever..

If we change the minimum to 10 or 15 can we still add more later on if needed?

I was just in touch with them about this- if you do not reach your room night minimum they take the cheapest room night price (the least expensive night rate from one of the resorts you selected) and they charge it to the bride and groom. So if you have 10 room nights that weren't used, unfortunately you have to pay for them...
