Hi everyone,

I got an email recently from DVC offering a $25 Disney gift card just for taking a phone tour of the new resort in Hawaii. Did anyone else get this? Has anyone done it?

I received a very fancy tri fold post card with the same offer, but did not do anything with it.

Yes, I did it last week. It was simple, took less than 10 minutes. They send you an email link which you click on and they go through the "phone tour " of DVC. They will send you a very nice book via fedex about DVC (mine arrived 2 days after the conversation) and the gift card is supposed to come a week after the book.

The DVC rep told me that You have to be at home to
sign for the gift card since it has cash value, fedex can't just leave it.

Also if you do it, have your laptop up and running. I didn't have mine on and she had to wait for me to get the laptop started. The phone presentation will not work on an iPad or iPhone.

The rep was very friendly and never once asked me to buy. She just gave information and asked me if I had any questions. Very pleasant conversation :)

I got an email last week and called this morning.
A nice woman answered the call and asked for my name, address, phone number, where we were staying and what date we're arriving.
She then put me on hold for about a minute while I waited for someone to speak with me.
I spoke to a gentleman who was right to the point of telling me how much up front DVC cost, and then told me he'd send out information to my home.
That was it.
It took maybe 7 minutes of my time.

I did one a week or so ago and really enjoyed it. I asked lost of questions, because I thought DH might really be interested in DVC (and he is). The DVD and booklet have arrived, but the gift card hasn't arrived yet.

Question for those in the know - do they do real-life tours, too? I think DH would enjoy that on our upcoming trip.

Can you do it if you have already done a dvc presentation?

The post card said you couldn't have done another in the last 90 days.

The first package of materials will be left at your door, but the FedEx envelope with the $25 gift card requires a "direct signature" for whatever reason. A FedEx direct signature requires that the recipient be present to sign for the package. When you get your first door tag (if you're not home), you can go to FedEx.com and have the package redirected/held at your local FedEx facility or Kinkos.

I did mine 2 weeks ago and did not have to use my laptop. My gift card and materials came a week later on the same exact day.

Thanks everyone for the info. I am going to do this when I get home tonight!

Can anyone call or is it like a pin thing where only the addresse can call in? If anyone can call do you guys have the phone number? The DVC thing I did was on one of the cruises I went on.

haven't gotten one of these; hope to soon (but I'm not leaving for DVC until May 2012)!

DVC has been the best investment we have made. Love love love it. We have had ours since 2003 and this month we just added an additional 50 points to our contract.

Yes they do real-life tours. There is usually a DVC booth set up just outside Chef Mickeys. You can talk with them and they will sign you up for a tour or you can stop at any of the DVC booths throughout the parks.

When we took our tour we had them pick us up at EPCOT. They driver met us at AA and took us backstage. It was nice to see some of the backstage area.

I had my third try today. I keep leaving notes on the door to come after 3:15 Now I got my third and final try today. Can someone help me on what I need to do now to get it?

Contact Fed Ex to have them hold your package there. Then, you can pick it up yourself when convenient. I believe they only hold for a few days, there should be a number for you to call on the slip.

Plug in the door tag number at FedEx.com and there will be an option to have the package held at your local FedEx office.

Thank you, I'll try the web site first then I'll call if that doesn't work.

Is this a general phone number, or does it have a special pin or invite on it? I have never seen or heard of these postcards...
