Just called Airtran and you can use the discount to pay for bag fees at the counter as well. May help someone if Business Class is sold out on their flight.

This will save me as much as $75 dollars as I'm flying Airtran to pick up my niece in ATL THIS WEEK and then we head to MCO the next morning. How wonderful it was to find this post today! Thanks again to everyone on the DIS for sharing and making our vacation even more magical!

This information is false. I just got off the phone with Airtran. I currently have flights already scheduled and they wouldn't do anything to discount my flight. When I asked about the luggage, they said this coupon for placing new flights and can not be used on luggage. Who did you speak with? I had no luck at all.

I booked my flights through orbitz a month ago and was able to use the coupons for seat assignments and I am going to try to use 2 more for baggage fees. If it doesn't work, oh well but I did save $72 in seat assignment fees.

I called AirTran directly. They said it would work and the woman I spoke with checked with her supervisor. Sounds like you just spoke to someone different, who gave you a different answer. Now since I don't own AirTran I can't guarantee anything, but I wouldn't call the information false.

That sounds good. What did the lady tell you to do with the coupons to get the discount? Are you to take them to the counter with you where you check in your bags?

Does anyone know if this coupon can be used to pay (at least in part) for a business class upgrade during online check in? It worked for seat assignment however there was no confirmation page so it used the code anyway and now I have a $12 credit to my account since I didn't actually want seat assignments and had to delete them. Hopefully I'll still be able to use some vouchers for upgrades

Hi everyone, thanks so much for the tips on this board. I received an email with Air Tran having a flight special for travel through December 16th (have to book by July 28, 2009), one way from MSP to MCO was showing $79. Here's what I did:
I opened 2 web browsers, one for Air Tran and one for Kayak. I searched one ways from Minneapolis to Orlando on both sites to compare times and prices. The Kayak site did not show the discount price special for Air Tran ($94 compared to $79). I clicked on go to Air Tran site from Kayak with the flight I wanted and when it loaded the Air Tran site, the new discounted price showed up. I continued on with my bookings, selected my seats and at the purchase area, I put in 4 of the codes for $100 off for 4 people.

I repeated the above from Orlando to Minneapolis, selected my seats and was able to use 4 new codes again for $100 off the return (one way) trip.
In total, I used 8 codes, found the flights on sale with their promotional email, got $200 off and have 2 separate bookings for 4 people (with free seat selection).

I was worried that the code would not work on the return trip, because it says visit Florida and technically I was not flying to Florida on the return flight .
But everything worked fine and my family has saved some major dollars! So thank you everyone, this has been so helpful!

No, you are only allowed one per email. I used hotmail accounts, work accounts and you could use friends emails and have them forward the voucher to you....

I had several email addresses I entered in the link on page 1, 8 total. I just used friends' and family's (with their permission) email addresses and made a few new email addresses.
I don't know if you can use the same code again on a different reservation, that's why I got so many but I was able to use one code for each person on the 2 separate reservations. I did not try to duplicate any of them.

We booked each one seperatly. I think that is what you have to do. What you experiences with Kayak is what you should expect, it will redirect you to the AirTran site where you complete the purchase.

Thanks for responding! I'm booking first thing in the morning. Only problem is available seating is not together. There are two in the same row, just not together. It makes our ticket $48 one way!

You don't have to book them separately. You just need a voucher for each person. Use your kids hotmail accounts, work accounts, friends accounts and have them forward the vouchers back. You are only allowed one voucher per email...

Then all you do is keep adding the coupons until you are done. Once you add one, it goes blank again, to add another and so on....

I tried to do this but when I clicked the button again to try and add another coupon the boxes contained the codes for the coupon we just used. I didn't try and replace it though, we just booked all seperatly. This would be bad if we need to cancel but since for two RT we paid $250, even if we lost it we would be fine.

You can delete them out. Just highlight them and hit delete....Enter the new code. I did just that two nights ago for 5 people.
