..

DH and his brother used pillowcases for that particular adventure....but they were 10 and 8 :rolleyes1.

So glad he's ok!!!

My oldest DS tried that when he was 5 or so. He didn't actually jump though, our neighbor happened to in her driveway under his window and stopped him and yelled for me. My youngest had a little red rocket-type car, he rode that thing down the stairs one day and scared the tar out of me! Must be a boy thing.....neither of mine have any fear of getting hurt.

I am glad that he is okay and that you are as well!

My DS3 sat in a box and rode it down the stairs. I asked him why he did that and he said "I saw it on the 'AAAAAA' movie".
He meant Home Alone when Kevin sleds down the steps. The "AAAAA" part is when he screams when he puts on the dads aftershave.

there are simple screw on clips that attach to the side of the window. So you can put them at any height, if you like to leave the window cracked in the cooler months.

I'm a girl and safety didn't come into play till i was about 20. Now i get scared to do something, and wish i did it before when it wasn't so scary to me.

I was a tree climber, and there were two trees on each side of the house that i would climb on to get to the roof.

Sorry... But the first thing i did was laugh. I'm glad he's ok. And there will probably be many more adventures to come.

I jumped out of a window (1 1/2 story?) using an umbrella! Glad he is okay. What a scare!

LOL, well, I've jumped off a balcony just to see what would happen when I was younger. I'm ok. (Haha, I suppose that may be up for debate.) Kids do crazy things sometimes. I'm really glad he's OK!

When my brother was little, he ran his tricycle into a tree. He wanted to know what it would feel like. :confused3

Boys are so weird. :lmao: I have two. Thankfully my eldest is a scary cat. My youngest I have to keep an eye on.

I am so glad your little man is not seriously hurt.:hug::hug::hug:

That is one of my biggest fears with ds7 (who has nine lives - the stuff he does...). His bedroom is tiny, and his bed butts up against the window. I'm going to remind him today to never touch it. Don't even get me started about the time he was 2, and got out of the house, and walked 4 blocks, crossing 3 streets, in bare feet, to my gf's house, to see if her dd could play. I didn't even know he was gone when she brought him back! :scared1:

Good heavens -- glad he's all right.

When my son was a baby, I read a book called "Bringing Up Boys" by James Dobson. He said that one difference between boys and girls is that girls look at a dangerous situation and think, "I might get hurt if I do this." A boy will look at the same situation and think, "I might not get hurt." It's so true! Boys are just wired differently!

Yes. I also heard someone once say that boys are trauma, girls are drama! :rotfl:

Glad he's ok. That's scary. Might be time to look into super-duper childproof locks or prison bars. :goodvibes

I am glad he is ok.

My nephew is 6 and he hit his head while playing and kept playing and later my sister saw him and said "Did you get the Strawberry Jam all over you?" He said I don't know I tried wiping it off. IT WAS BLOOD from his head. Luckily it was a bad cut didn't even need stitches but boy did he bleed she said. Boys are so different. That is why sometimes I am thankful that I only have girls.. My nephew is the only boy out of 7 grandkids. So I guess my dreams of a son will be thru him..

It reminds me crazy things we would do as kids. One of the more popular ways to gain cool points was to jump off of the rocket slide. It was higher than one story but idk if it was as high as two stories. The ground was little pebbles.

As an adult, I don't think I could ever do that. :scared1:

:scared1: Holy crap!!

I'm so glad he's okay!

Thanks SO much everyone!!

I can't tell you how many people have told me that they tried to be Mary Poppins when they were little (jumping off something with an umbrella) since yesterday....

I slept in his room last night just to make sure he was breathing and all that, I am just TOTALLY freaked out!! But, he made it through fine and is back to his old self today. :confused3 I just need to follow up with the orthopedic people this week. PHEW!!

I have already ordered safety bars from One Step Ahead for the two windows in his room and the one in the office. He has been informed that he's not allowed to open, close, touch, look at, or THINK ABOUT any windows in the house, on any floor. (We have 3, all above ground!!)

And I have that Dobson book.... read it when he was a baby; I think I'm going to read it again ;)

 Glad to hear the little guy is OK.

It may not seem like it now..... but in a couple years this will be hilarious. This will be the story you tell to your 15 yr old son as you still have a twitch in one eye from the stress. "Son, You see THIS gray hair?!?! Lemme tell you how it got there..."

Reminds me of the most important lesson I ever learned during my time in childcare: A 3 yr old girl with Tinkerbell panties and a set of fairy wings will honestly believe she can fly. :scared1:

I'm glad he is okay!! They do also make window guards (if you google it you will see) that go on the inside of the windows to keep children from jumping out. They are installed (which you can do yourself) and have safety latches where you can take them down if you choose.
