.

Hi from another CT bride... who is also having a reception at Ariel's... and blue and yellow colors... using hydrangeas as part of the floral! Oh my god we're twins! :lmao:

There is actually a long and boring story behind my colors that involved a complete color change but ultimated culminated in a dress shop meltdown which led me back to my oiginal choice... but it's all for the best because I think blue and yellow are a great match for Ariel's.

Your dress is beautiful! It definitely screams Disney fairy tale. :thumbsup2

Your MOH sounds like a royal PITA... I'm sure some of it is stemming from her own insecurities over her wedding and her weight, but I bet at least some of it comes from not hearing the word "no" enough. I foresaw some of the same issues with one of the girls who would have been a BM for me, and honestly it is one of the reasons my DF and I decided to have only one attendent each. Planning a wedding is stressful enough without bridal party drama! I think you have a great plan in place with regards to her - good luck and I can't wait to see more updates! :goodvibes

Hi there!

I'm subbing!! :goodvibes

First of all, the two of you are adorable! DH and I are new DVC members who have only had one DVC stay as of now, our next is in Sept!

Anyway, your dress is beautiful! SOOOOO Sparkly!!!!!

I couldn't see the pics of the other dresses you were loving, but I guess it's a moot point now.

I'm sorry about your MOH drama! Boy, let me tell you, I was MOH for a very good friend of mine and I hated the color AND the style of dress but couldn't/didn't/wouldn't dare say a thing. MoH's know what the deal is going in to it when you agree to be someone's MoH. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about changing the color OR the style.

Can't wait to hear more about your plans!

My first cat was Milo (RIP) and we have a cat now who's name is Marley! (After Bob Marley). We have two now though. Marley and McCormack!

Great job on the PJ so far!!! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Hi, I just wanted to say that I love your yellow bridesmaids dresses!! I def think you should stick to the color. Did you ask your MOH why she doesn't like yellow?

I don't usually wear yellow because I am so pale and it looks really bad on me. The second night of our wedding reception I wore a yellow dress and I think it looked fine bc I was tan. Maybe suggest to her that you guys could all go tanning together or get spray tans before the wedding? She might feel better about herself that way. I know I did.

Last resort - I don't think it would be weird if your two MOHs wore blue and everyone else wore yellow. But in all honesty I did so much with my wedding to please other people and I completely regret all of it. I wish I had done nothing other than what I wanted. So stick with yellow!!

Just got caught up! I'm sorry about the MOH mess. Honestly I don't think you are being bridezillaish at all! I would tell her these are the colors and dresses you and DF have decided on, and all the other BM's are happy with the choices, and you would love for her to be in the wedding but if she is too uncomfortable in the dress or color she does not have to be a bridesmaid, maybe she could do something else. I'm sure this will let her know in a nice way you are not going to change anything for her, and hopefully she will drop it. If she doesn't, honestly maybe it's not worth having her in the wedding if she's causing all that drama. I personally love the dresses and colors! I actually really like both colors and think it would look great to do half the bridesmaids in one color and half in the other, especially since you are now having your reception at Ariels!

I need to start looking into an officiant as well! I would love to hear all of your feedback on them maybe it will help me decide! I haven't heard much on here about officiants and have no idea how to even start looking for one.

that is frustrating about having your locations up in the air. I totally agree with you about the transport/logistics thing. It made it so much easier for guests to be able to walk to the reception...

But you are right that Ariel's is beautiful! And since you didn't look at other locations, you could consider Citrico's or Narcoossee's if you have a morning wedding (receptions have to be over before dinner begins). We had to switch from Whitehall because we outgrew it and I didn't want to move from the GF and I didn't want a normal ballroom. I was very happy with Narcoossee's, although I had not looked at it beforehand, either.

Hope you get good news soon!

How are the guests getting to the ceremony and getting back to their rooms? I've struggled with not getting motorcoach but I would freak is someone gets lost or doesnt make it.:confused3 i know the ceremony to the reception is easy, everyone can walk there but what about before and after?

I would definitely try to hold out for the whitehall room, if its the one your dreaming of, then do not settle. keep talking to your planner and get the reception you love.

All I have to say is don't settle! If you love the Whitehall Room, and don't love Ariel's as much, don't do it. I really hope that your planner offers the option of switching if Whitehall is available at 8 months out! It really is a weird rule. We loved Whitehall as well, but we outgrew it, I didn't want a ballroom and now we have to pay for buses :headache:.
